Chapter Thirty-Six

The packhouse seemed oddly quiet today. The sunlight illuminated the place pretty well. I've been thinking about Katherine lately. My stupid mistake has jeopardized our friendship.

At the moment, she was stood in the grandroom with a couple of other maids dusting like nobody's business. Even in her uniform she stood out, poised in her beauty. I stepped in the room commanding everyone to leave. They didn't even dare to ask questions. They just scurried away like I was going to hurt them. Katherine also made an attempt to leave.

''Stay Kat. I want to talk to you'' She abruptly stopped.

''What can I get for you Miss Sky?''

''I don't want you to get me anything. We need to settle this''

''Settle what please?'' She asked feigning ignorance.

''Please Kat, don't do this. Hear me out. Let me explain. At least allow me to apologize. Our friendship is dying..''

''No need. Our friendship is already dead...''
