A silly little game

Kaden woke up from his sleep, letting out a big yawn, feeling a mixture of disorientation and a lingering sense of tiredness.

The room was dim, lit only by the soft glow of his game helmet's standby light. It took him a moment to adjust and remember where he was: his own bedroom, back in the real world.

It looked dark outside. Just how long was he asleep?

Groggily, he sat up and glanced at his chest, half-expecting the phoenix mark to have vanished. He was sure that he had dreamt up the whole thing, but there it was, as vivid and intricate as it had been in the game.

He trailed his fingers over it, still unable to believe its existence outside the game world. The tutorial had not ended yet so this should not be possible.

However, this was very real. He could feel the pulsing warmth. Was this because he had obtained this from another world? A real world?
