Like a dream

"I don't believe you!" Mr. Wright was furious. "You dared to do something like this, despite knowing our family's condition? You wasted the money you could have used for your semester fees on something so frivolous and on top of that spent your time playing and not studying?"

Kaden shook his head helplessly. He already knew that this was going to happen. He should have started this whole conversation in a different way.

He silently took out a wad of cash from his pocket and placed it on the small desk in the living room right in front of his father and mother.

"Listen, Dad, I know what it looks like, but it's not what you think. I didn't waste my time or money. This," he gestured to the wad of cash on the table, "I earned this by playing the game."

Mr. Wright scrunched his nose as he looked at the money skeptically, "You mean you've been making money playing video games?"
