Menstruation

When the little hand trembled and touched Elmer's arm, Elmer was awakened. He saw his little sister holding her big teddy bear standing by his bed. Elmer sat up and asked, "Why aren't you sleeping? It's so late."

"I'm scared," Nydia said, her head buried in the teddy bear's fur, her clear eyes staring at her brother.

"What are you afraid of? This is our own home," Elmer said, feeling that his sister's expression was strange. He picked her up and held her in his arms, asking, "Is it because our sister bullied you?"

"No, our sister is sleeping like a pig. I can't sleep because..." Nydia looked at Elmer and whispered, "I heard noises from Mom's room last night. It sounded like Mom was arguing with someone. It was so scary. I wanted to open the door and see, but I was too scared. Later, I think I saw a person with wings coming out of Mom's room, and I couldn't look anymore."
