No Luck

After leaving, the man with gold-rimmed glasses felt that something was wrong.

He stopped in his tracks and said to his two companions, "It seems like we were used. An Siyao seemed impatient, and he drove us away. Didn't he just harvest goodwill?"

"Should we go again and get mocked again?" one companion asked.

"We can't get any favor by approaching them. How could he succeed? An Siyao will probably be annoyed with him soon," the other companion commented.

So the three of them stood aside, looking in the direction of Xia Yu and An Siyao, waiting for Xia Yu to be disliked by An Siyao.

However, Xia Yu didn't pester them like the others. After greeting An Siyao, he turned and walked away.

"This guy, he actually retreated to advance. This way, An Siyao would only have goodwill left for him," the man with gold-rimmed glasses realized his naïveté.

"He's a master. Don't go over and touch the moldy head," the two companions decided against striking up a conversation.

For them, face was more important than anything else; they needed to avoid losing face in a timely manner.

On the other side, Xia Yu left An Siyao and returned to Zhong Yunze's side.

"You're not interested in her, are you?" Zhong Yunze asked Xia Yu.

"No," Xia Yu answered.

"That's good. The fools think An Siyao is just an ordinary family girl. She's the young lady of the An family, from An Tianfeng's An Group!" Zhong Yunze's words were mixed with a sour tone.

"How did you know?" Xia Yu asked curiously.

"My family's company and the An family's company have business dealings. When my father was still alive, I even attended An Siyao's birthday party," Zhong Yunze explained.

Zhong's father had attended it before, meaning he hadn't attended recently? Did the Zhong family's company decline? Or did An Siyao not host any birthday parties open to the public afterward?

This information had nothing to do with him for the time being. He made a mental note of it, thinking it might come in handy later.

Collecting various pieces of information was one of Xia Yu's hobbies.

"Moreover, don't be fooled by An Siyao's soft appearance. She's actually quite fierce!" Zhong Yunze added.

"How so?" Xia Yu had already guessed the situation but still asked, wanting to know Zhong Yunze's perspective.

"You know my sister, right? The troublemaker who's been driving our mom crazy for years. She was tamed by An Siyao in school," Zhong Yunze said, sighing. "You can't judge a book by its cover. My dad couldn't even control my sister when he was alive."

Hearing about his own achievements from someone else, Xia Yu felt a peculiar sense of pride. At the same time, he confirmed that Kong Hanyue's information was reliable. Even Zhong Yunze hadn't been told, let alone others.

Just like before, she was a trustworthy person.

Her personality was just a bit immature, but that was also part of her charm.

After chatting with Zhong Yunze for a while, Xia Yu saw someone else approaching An Siyao.

Beautiful girls always attracted attention.

With a few swipes on his screen, Xia Yu entered An Siyao's gaming lobby.

Having just exchanged bodies, his balance was slightly off. Relying on his agility, Xia Yu managed to steady himself.

"What's wrong with you?" the two guys trying to strike up a conversation noticed Xia Yu's unsteadiness.

"It's nothing," Xia Yu answered expressionlessly.

The two boys were a little stunned. An Siyao's words had been soft just now, but how did she suddenly become cold?

Xia Yu put the juice in his hand on a table nearby and strode forward.

The two boys hurried to catch up.

After four or five steps, seeing that they had no intention of giving up, Xia Yu said, "I'm going to the ladies' room, do you want to follow me there too?"

"Ah, no." Faced with Xia Yu's sharp gaze, the two boys felt their hearts tighten, and they were a little scared.

This was because Xia Yu had used intimidation.

Zhong Yunze, who had been observing from the side, grabbed Tu Guanyu's arm: "I told you, look at their faces! I don't know what An Siyao said, but she scared them like that!"

"Mm-hmm." Tu Guanyu agreed.

Having intimidated the two, Xia Yu continued forward.

He wasn't deceiving them; rather, he genuinely had needs.

Coming out of the stall, Xia Yu washed his hands and teased An Siyao.

"If I hadn't come, would you have gone back to wash your underwear?"

"Of course not! I would have come here by myself!" An Siyao argued.

Afraid that the girl was too shy, Xia Yu didn't dwell on the issue: "Why did you bother with those people? You should have just rejected them directly."

The girl didn't speak.

"Alright, I know you can't refuse." Xia Yu stretched out his hand and pinched An Siyao's cheek, dried the water on his hands, and walked straight towards the elevator.

At the lobby entrance, he met a girl who had come out.

Looking at the direction Xia Yu was heading, the girl stopped him and said, "The lobby is this way!"

Turning his head back, Xia Yu smiled at her, "I know, but I'm going to the elevator to leave."

After saying that, he continued forward.

That girl was one of the few people who felt uncomfortable at the banquet. She glanced back at the two boys laughing about their own cup-holding pose and gritted her teeth, following Xia Yu.

She had been hiding in a corner earlier, dodging responsibility but never considering leaving early.

Arriving in the elevator, she still felt uneasy.

Xia Yu had already guessed the situation and reassured the girl, "It's nothing, just a banquet. Just say you're feeling unwell."

"Thank you!" Looking at the calm Xia Yu, the girl felt relieved.

Xia Yu's floor arrived first, and he stepped out of the elevator.

As the elevator doors closed, the girl's heart was still thinking about his figure.

How cool!

An Siyao was also in a good mood and pointed at a room, "It's that one right there. I didn't bring a card, but the teacher is inside."

Xia Yu then knocked on the door, and an elderly woman opened it for him.

"Why are you back so soon?" The old woman was puzzled.

"I didn't feel like staying there, so I came back." After saying that, Xia Yu entered the bedroom.

The old woman was left standing in the living room, baffled.

It made sense to return if he didn't like it, but it would be different if An Siyao had said it.

Could it be that this girl was such a unique child?

Ignoring her surprise, Xia Yu, who had come to An Siyao's room, continued to talk about the incident with the girl.

He felt the need to teach An Siyao how to get rid of those guys with ill intentions.

"If anyone bothers you later, just say you're feeling unwell and need some peace and quiet to rest." Xia Yu began to teach An Siyao her lines by hand.

...

The next day, the competition was about to begin, and a group of people went to the venue together. Xia Yu unexpectedly ran into An Siyao.

"Good morning," Xia Yu said.

"Sorry, I'm not feeling well."

"???"

I meant for you to say that when someone is bothering you, not when you're just greeting someone.

I've noted it down.

Not talking to An Siyao anymore, Xia Yu went to draw his competition number after arriving at the theater. His number was ten, a relatively close position.
