See This Day Again

Dahlia didn't know what she was doing when she began cooking that night. It had been a few hours since Zoran returned, and she was still abuzz with energy at the thought of meeting him. It was only unfortunate that it couldn't happen sooner, but at the very least, he gave her just enough time to try and cook something for him like she normally did.

"Hopefully he still likes it…" she mumbled to herself. "Or maybe his tastes have changed since then?"

She shook her head at the thought. It had only been a few weeks since she last saw him, right? Surely, his favorite dishes hadn't changed since.

"R-Right," she psyched herself up. "There's no way that he wouldn't like this anymore."

"Like what, Dahlia?"

She froze at the sudden voice coming from behind her. His breaths were hitting the back of her neck, and she couldn't help but shiver even as she did her best not to show it.

"Z-Zoran?" she asked with a stutter. "Why are you here?"
