Getting to know the creation

Belle woke up the next day. The academy was massive, but to him, he had covered almost all the places he marked as important to him yesterday. While brushing his teeth, Belle thought about what to do for the day. The time given by the academy was not much, but he could at least use it to do more.

"The library," Belle immediately thought to himself as he remembered that he needed to catch up in order not to show his naivety. After brushing, Belle put on a new pair of clothes. Thanks to Elizabeth, all his clothes were Gothic styled, dark, and had this eerie air around them.

Walking down the walkway to the library, Belle could see a lot of fourteen and fifteen-year-old teenagers walking around. His guess was that, just like him, they were all new students. He could see their happy faces and could even hear some of the things they were saying inside their minds. "How can a little girl be thinking like that?" Belle said as he looked at one particular girl. Then, he turned back to mind his own business and went to the library. Telepathy needed to be controlled, but shutting it off was even harder than his voice attack. He could choose to switch to a different mind in order to stop reading the one he was reading, but he couldn't shut it down. He just didn't know how to do it.

Belle walked his way into the library and, just like yesterday, he was still marveled at how far the book racks stretched. Maybe my dream of reading all of them is a bit too much, Belle said in his mind before going to the library keeper.

"Good sir, can you recommend where to get books for beginners?" Belle asked.

"Beginner beginners or just beginner?" the man asked with a smile. He seemed polite enough.

"What are beginner beginners?" Belle asked, as he hadn't heard of such.

"Oh, that is my way of saying beginners that are actually far from normal beginners," the man said, still maintaining his smile.

"Yeah, that is what I want," Belle immediately said.

"Okay, follow me," the man said, leading the way. He was mostly happy when students liked reading, and seeing Belle, a new student, immediately hit the library the next day instead of still trying to familiarize himself with the academy, created a good impression.

"Sir James Hutton's Theory of the Earth, Nicolaus Copernicus's Theory of the Solar System, the five theories about creation, Earth government, John Finnis's Natural Law and Natural Right," the man introduced the books as he dropped them into Belle's hands.

"If it is too big, you can drop some and borrow them later," the man said, seeing that the pile of books was almost towering above Belle.

"No, sir, I will read them," Belle said. He could tell that each of the books had a lot of pages.

"You can consult me on anything you don't understand. If you don't see me in the library, tell anyone you saw that you are looking for Sir Fenrir," the man said.

"Okay, sir," Belle said. This was exactly what he needed. He was good at using his brain, but he was sure he would need help in understanding most of the books.

Finding a place to sit in the library, Belle buried himself deep into reading. He really appreciated his mom for at least teaching him how to write and read. "I should start from creation," Belle said as he took the book with the most pages and flipped it open.

Reading from morning to noon, Belle had already covered half of the book. Though a lot of things confused him, he still picked up those he deemed important. According to the book, there were five theories of creation, but he decided to stick to the theory of a supreme being creating the Earth since it was more feasible to him. He wanted to follow evolution, but he just didn't see how humans went from fossils to aquamarine beings, then apes, which are mammals.

"With a very strong ability, one can actually create. My terrakinesis can help me grow the green, affect earth terrains. Imagine someone with a better ability. Of course, they can do more. The supreme being creating everyone is really more feasible," Belle tried to make his decision seem right in his mind. "I will discuss it with Sir Fenrir to know what he thinks," Belle said to himself before continuing to engross himself with reading.

Around 1pm, Sir Fenrir decided to go do the routine check on the library. He was once a student here and had been offered a prominent post, which he turned down for the post of library keeper due to his quest for knowledge. He was still in his late thirties but had strands of grey hair.

"Still reading?" Sir Fenrir, who was shocked to see Belle engrossed in the book, asked.

"Yeah, I don't understand much though," Belle, who had already completed one quarter of the theory on creation, said.

"What don't you understand?" Sir Fenrir, who was immediately delighted to see a kid who could read for five hours at this age, asked.

"The five theories of creation. Three support the supreme being creating all, they just have slight differences. But one theory completely opposes that. The functional creation theory supports the idea of a supreme being, but they believe that the supreme being only gave functioning abilities to already existing things. The progressive creation theory believes that the six days mentioned might not actually be six days as we perceive them. They think that what the supreme being sees as six days might actually be thousands or millions of our years. The gap creation theory believes in the supreme being creating everything but suggests that there was a large gap in creation. Only the evolution theory stands alone. Why is that?" Belle asked.

"It is simple. Most people don't find the evolution theory feasible. Tell me, do you find the evolution theory feasible or do you think they are right?" Sir Fenrir asked.

"I don't find it feasible. If we really transformed from apes, why did some apes remain apes and not evolve into humans?" Belle said.

"Exactly, you get your answer. Most people don't support the evolution theory because they see it as less feasible," Sir Fenrir said with a smile.

"Do you support the evolution theory, though?" Belle asked.

"No. Do you?" Sir Fenrir asked back with a smile.

"No, I support the idea that there is a supreme being that created everything. I mean, look at us with abilities. Maybe the supreme being has more powers that exceed our concept of abilities," Belle said.

"I think I like you," Sir Fenrir said with a wide smile as he sat down, forgetting that he was going on a routine check. He had always wanted someone to discuss a lot of theories with, and Belle seemed like a suitable candidate.

"The evolution theory really has a lot of loopholes. The supreme being creation theory also has its own loopholes since we tend to ask where this supreme being was before creating everything and how many were there like him when he did that. However, these loopholes are still not as significant as the loopholes in the evolution theory. By the way, the creation theories didn't end with just these five. There are a lot more, but I thought it would be overwhelming for you to read all of them. You should know that there is also the Big Bang theory, which is slightly more feasible than the evolution theory but still falls short compared to the supreme being theory," Sir Fenrir explained. He could go on discussing this topic for ages with Belle.

"I would like to read all the theories to make my comparison," Belle said.

"Sure, that's a great thing to do. I still think you will ultimately end up supporting the supreme being theory, though. I say this because I think the spatial zone is controlled by unfathomable entities, and we are just their chess pieces. The pieces with stronger abilities are like queens, kings, knights, bishops, and rooks. It's just my deduction with no concrete evidence, but I think that with the way your brain works, a little more exposure will help you come to the same conclusion," Sir Fenrir said.

Hearing Sir Fenrir, Belle felt shocked. He had never thought of something controlling the spatial zones. How feasible could that be? Belle immediately thought to himself and deemed it ninety percent plausible.

"Anyway, I really want to talk more with you, but I need to attend to the library too. I hope to see you around," Sir Fenrir said, as he remembered his duty and had to run the library."I will be hoping to see you around. You can even find me at Suite 207. Yeah, white to blue students are not allowed in, but you can just tell them that you are there on the order of Sir Fenrir."

"Okay, sir," Belle said, bowing respectfully. The little input from Sir Fenrir had made him think more.

"What is your name, though?" Sir Fenrir, who was about to leave, asked.

"Belle," Belle replied.

Upon hearing the name, Sir Fenrir immediately realized that it sounded familiar to him. "Belle, the student who took the fifth position on the exam ranking," he finally recalled what was familiar about the name.

"Yes," Belle said.

"You are an all-black. You don't even need to tell them that you came on my orders. Have you collected your uniform?" Sir Fenrir asked.

"No," Belle replied.

"You should try to collect it today. Don't worry about finishing the books. You can actually take it with you and return it later," Sir Fenrir said before leaving.

"Okay, sir," Belle said, then bent down to at least finish the theory of creation before leaving since he was almost done with it.
