CHAPTER FIVE
ANOTHER MURDER
"Stephany James you have to come with us to the station for questioning" police officer said to Steph as they entered the ward Vivian is admitted in.
"Why?" She asks in a suspicious way. She doesn't go well with cops. She is really broken and sad. She never expected what happened yesterday night to happen. She misses him
"You will know when we get to the station"
"My darling go with them" Vivian said in a small, calm sick voice. Her sickness is getting worse by the day that it makes it seem as if the hospital isn't doing their job well. She knows she will move to the other world and for some reasons known to her, she's happy about it
"But mom—"
"No buts Steph. They're just going to question you. You won't be arrested or pledged guilty if you're not guilty"
"Mom I don't want to leave you alone. I don't want to leave your side" she sobs
"I will be here when you return. I'm not going anywhere. There are doctors and nurses to take care of me"
"But—"
"Just go Steph" she kisses her mother on the forehead and cheek before going with the police officers.

"Where were you yesterday as at 8:23?"
"I was at the hospital with my mom. The nurses can confirm that" she is sad and angry.
"No you weren't"
"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean you were not at the hospital by that time"
"Oh, yes, now I remember. I went to get Mom some things she requested for at a grocery store"
"So you mean that was the only place you were?"
"Yes" Stacy didn't press any further on that because she is waiting for report.
"Who is Mister Joe Parker to you?" Stacy asked her. All the way observing her facial expression
"He was my ex" she sniffles the sob threatening to come out of her lips. It downed on her again that Joe is no more. Even if they broke up, she still did love him.
"When did you guys break up?"
"Yesterday"
"So why is it that he died few hours after the break-up? Is that just a coincidence?"
"How am I to know that?"
"Why aren't you suppose to know that?! The man who broke up with you merely a day was murdered in cold blood. He was lying in his own pool of blood. His. Own. Fucking. Flood. Of. Blood" Stacy grits her teeth together in frustration. Trying to solve Mr William James case, now another one relating to the same family. She is in this empty room, with just two chairs and a table. She is becoming frustrated. Nothing and no one is helping.
"We broke up, okay?! I went straight to the hospital and cried to my mom about him! I was upset that I couldn't drink or eat! I told my Mom and siblings about it"
"So you just cried?" Stacy asked calmly
"Yes"
"What about how you guys broke up? You found him with another woman on bed. He was busy showing off his skills on bed and you saw him. You saw him doing the same thing he did with you, with another woman. So tell me, you just cried about it? You didn't think of harming him?"
"No I do never do that! He cheated on me, I get it. But I do never hurt him or any person at all. I was angry that's understandable but, it wasn't enough to get me to kill him!" Stacy swallows hard. This is harder that it seems. She stood up from her sitting position and left the room. Well my girl is pissed. Nothing is coming to mind. Every single thing is blur.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah...yeah...I will be fine"
"Go take a rest. I will take it from here" he is really concerned about her. If anything he doesn't want to ever see her beautiful face frown.
Abraham walks into the questioning room.
"Miss Stephany. Would you mind telling us who you think might have the balls to kill your boyfriend?"
"I do not know"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes and if anything comes to mind I will let you guys know. Can I go now?" She is pissed. Why would they think that she would even ever in her life imagine killing someone and not just anyone but her boyfriend...well use to be, but still she do never do that and it hurts when they ask her questions as if though she is the killer of Joe. She misses him. She loves him.
"Yes. You will be informed whenever you are to be questioned. Have a nice day" Abraham concluded, letting her go. Stephany stood up with anger boiling inside of her and left the room and head straight to the hospital while Abraham head to check on Stacy
"Mom. They gat to be shitting me! Why would they think I might have a hand in the death of Joe? For all I know I do never hurt anyone at all" she faced her mom on the sick bed "I love him Mom. I do never kill him" she begins to sob again.
"Shhhh shushushu.... come here honey" Stephany goes to her mother, hugging her while crying
"I miss him Mom" she said in between sobs and cries.
"I know baby. I know. Just don't let them get to you"
"Why would someone want to kill him?"
"We can never tell why people do what they do honey"
"If I ever get the killer of Joe, they will rout in prison. I will do anything and everything to ensure that" she's determined.
"You will be fine honey" she hugs her daughter tightly. It might not seem like it but they are in the same shoes. In the same category. It is Mr William James for Vivian and Joe Parker for Stephany. This is sad.
Lucy and James jnr comes into the ward.
"What's up people?" James asked his Mom and Stephany "Mom how are you doing today?" He said kissing her forehead and cheeks
"I'm fine now that all of you are here" she chuckles along with Lucy and James. Stephany wasn't even paying attention. Her mind is occupied, really really occupied.
"Are you okay Steph?" Lucy asked her sister concerned. They all heard all that happened. She is going through a lot right now
"I will be fine Lu" tsks
"You're not fine. When will you be fine sis?"
"I don't know Lu"
"He is gone Steph"
"Do I look like I don't know that?!"
"Put yourself together. You guys only dated. You're not even married to him."
"And so what Lucy?! He is cheerished by me"
"I know but he's gone. Go find yourself another man"
"Lucy! What is wrong with you? You think it's that easy? For Pete's sake he just died few hours ago. Don't you have respect for the dead?!"
"I would have if he didn't hurt you. How dare he break your heart? To be honest Steph, he got what he deserves" Stephany rushes to slap her sister but is held by James jnr
"Lu stop it! She's going through a lot right now"
"I'm just being honest" she said nonchalantly
"Throw your god-damned honesty in that fucking trash over there" she spat pointing at the trash can in the room. Vivian begins to act up and they turn to her
"Mom" they called out to her but she didn't respond
"Lu call the doctor. Mom please open your eyes" Steph begins to sob again. That's practically what she has been doing all day.
A doctor and a nurse rushes in with Lucy. The doctor checked the monitor. She is dying so they began to do their thing. Minutes later they stabled her and she became normal again. Stephany and her siblings breathed down, releasing the breathe they didn't know they were holding. They were so scared. They don't want to loose her, especially not now.
The doctor and nurse left the room after doing their job with a now sleeping Vivian.
"I'm sorry Steph. I didn't mean to hurt or upset you" Lucy says to her sister with a hurtful eyes.
"It's okay Lu. Come here" they all hugged each other. As always its a beautiful moment. A beautiful site to see.
At the office Stacy is about to go home. She tidies up her things and makes her way to the door.
"Abraham I will be on my way now" she said as she got to his desk
"Ok. I will be right behind you. I need to finish this" he says giving her a cute smile which Stacy thinks looks adorable.
"Alright. See you" she smiles at him. she makes her way to the entrance/exit door and leaves the office. She got to her car and zooms off to home.
Stacy parks her car as soon as she enters the parking lot of the forty(40) storey building she lives in. It's not a penthouse but it's a good house. She steps out of the car, closing the door and making her way to the entrance but is blocked by two hefty men. What the fuck?
