CHAPTER FOURTEEN

THE TRIAL

Court trial came fast and it is time. Lucy wasn't even the least afraid or bothered while her family are wailing in pain. She has not just committed one murder or two but many of them. Stacy and Abraham are to escort with few other police to court. When Lucy came out of the door of the police station, she inhaled and exhaled. It's been long since she last saw the sun or breathed in the fresh air. She is ready to face everything and happily. On a normal terms she would be seen as a psychopath or maniac but this is Lucy, Lucy the most loved by all.

They got to court and she was found guilty. The whimperings in the courtroom could be heard loud and clear but it isn't from who it should come from.

Lucy was handcuffed and ready to be hanged by court order.

In the Police van is seen Lucy in handcuff, nonchalant. Stacy and Abraham along with two Police officers at the driver seat and shotgun (passenger) seat respectively.

"Ma'am I think we're being followed" the policeman sitting at the passenger side reported.

"Wheel it let's confirm" Stacy instructed.

Truly they were being followed. Soon, a crashing sound is heard, it became stronger and soon the van tumbled. Lucy was dragged out. Abraham managed to wake up, dragged himself along with Stacy out of the van and tried to wake her up

"Stacy wake up" she didn't move "beautiful wake up it's me Abraham! Wake up" yet no movement. Abraham became pale like a white statue.

"Cough...cough... cough" Stacy coughed

"Oh my God you're awake. Thank goodness" he is relieved. Thousand thoughts have been going on in his mind and head

"Wher...where is Lucy?" She asked with a shaky voice

"They took her and—"

"Call 911" she instructed as she stood up and showed her ID to a civilian. She took his car and asked Abraham to get in. He got in and she zoomed off. "Amanda check the footage and give me their direction" she instructed Amanda

Soon they arrived at a still-in-construction(uncompleted) building. They made their way to the top floor

"Abraham call for back up"

As they approached, they saw Lucy sitting lazily and nonchalantly on a plastic arm chair

"Knew you do come" she snickers. Stacy pointed her gun at her

"Lucy you have to surrender"

"Sure I will but not to the law. I will die on my own terms" she smirks. She raises up a recorder. "Here is all there's to know about why I did all that I did" she gives it to Stacy also with a flashdrive. "That contains all the evidence you need"

"Why now Lucy? If these are what I think they are, I can use it to save you. We can appeal in court"

"I do not want that. I would have done it if I wanted. So take it and finish what I started" her face became serious and scary filled with fury. "Do not let them go free! I swear I will hunt your dreams"

"I will. But first we have to save you" soon armed officers surrounded the building. Now their guns are all pointed at Lucy.

"You folks don't have to go through the stress because I will help you" she stood up "Stacy David take care. See you on the other side when it's your time to join us. Tell my family I love them. Have a nice life" she smirked and jumped off the building

"No!!! Lucy! Someone help!" She tried to catch her but it was too late, she couldn't. Abraham held her

After seconds a loud thud was heard and it was Lucy's body on the concrete ground. Blood oozing from her head and her face pale with a smile on her face. Stacy ran down till she got to her.

"Someone call 911!" She knelt beside her "Lucy wake up. We can appeal and you will be set free. You're not guilty! Wake up! Wake up please" she whimpers bitterly "just wake up" she said with a shaky voice as she wails slowly. Abraham raised her up from Lucy's body and hugged her. This made her cry more. "She's not suppose to die. I should have saved her! I should have... hiccup...saved Lucy. She's not the evil one... hiccup... tell her to wake up" Abraham just pats and sooths her without a single word.

The ambulance arrived soon and Lucy's body was carried away in a strecher

"We are going with them" she told Abraham. She turns to the officers around "I told you all to fucking catch her! If she dies you all will hear from me" she said sternly. The officers shudders...hehehe

"She scares me when she's like this" one officer says

"She looks like a little devil. Gosh" another mutters

"No a little demon or maybe a female one" yet another says

"You are still worried about her looks" scoff "pray Lucy doesn't die" smirks "if she does, you all won't have the mouth to say all that you just said" Abraham scoffs again before leaving with Stacy. These words scared them more.

Lucy was rushed to the hospital. Stacy calls her family and informed them. Then she gathered herself and went to the office.

In her office she sat with Abraham and she played the recorder. Lucy's voice came up...

"By the time you are listening to this I will be dead" tears made their way down Stacy's face while Abraham rubbed her back in consolation "I'm the second child among my siblings which you already know. My relationship with my father was a beautiful one. I was his favourite. He loved me so much that my siblings and Mom thinks that he doesn't love his other two children. Mr William James was a god-like father to me because I always think he was a god until one day that notion and everything changed"

"One day my friends threw a party in a hotel. I had to go because I was invited. We partied all night and got wasted. I needed to pee/ease badly so I stumbled into the bathroom to urinate. I finished my thing and washed my face to try and sobber up and heard a moaning sound from the bathroom and I ignored it because we see a lot of that everyday. But something caught my attention; the shoes of the male then the woman moaned "Yes Mr William" I looked at the shoes again and I replayed the 'yes Mr William' over and over again but I was drunk so I pushed it all to the back of my mind and joined the party. Minutes later I saw my father with a woman coming out from the same restroom, then I looked at his legs and saw the same shoes. The woman in question is a waitress. "Daddy is cheating on Mom" that was the first thought that came to mind" she paused

"After that day, I began watching my father. Where he goes, who he meets and what he does, his every move. What I discovered changed every single pure thoughts and view about my father. I began to hate him, despise him. Seeing him feels like seeing an archenemy. My Dad apart from my family and Alessia her daughter has three more families and they all bore him children"

"What sort of a man is he? Jesus Christ" Abraham couldn't hold it in any longer. He hissed badly

"He divorced my Mom not because he loves Alessia but because he wanted to acquire more properties and to convince Alessia that he's true, he divorced my Mom. This kept building up the rage inside of me. We became the worst enemy to each other. Later on I found out after his marriage to Alessia that she is his punching bag. No day goes by without him taking out his anger and frustration on her. She couldn't say anything because she loved him so much and to her, she might ruin his good reputation. Like what the fuck!

I caught it on camera, it's in the drive I gave you. Alessia miscarried many times because of the excess beating. The only child she could give birth to is Emily because she is her first issue and he wanted her to give birth so she won't have an excuse to leave him. After the birth of Emily, she never conceived again" a sniffle was heard

"My Mom did drugs because she couldn't live without my father. She quit to take care of us but got tumor instead. She suffered till she died. And he caused it all. I killed him because no one should ever have him as a husband, father, brother or business associate. He flamed Mayor to get his hands on the property that doesn't even belong to him. Mayor is a good man. When I found out about his other families and all of his crimes, he tried to kill me. Everything is in the flashdrive. He also tried to kill Mayor but he couldn't reach him and Mayor knows about it. He killed a lot of women and men who didn't follow his instructions. He is that evil and wicked and deadly"

"I killed my sister's boyfriend because just like my father he's a cheat and a jerk. He had killed many girls to cover up his criminal life style. Same with Maya's boyfriend that spread her nude video like wild fire. Maya is not dead—"

"What?!" They chorused

"I just made a mask and wore it on the face of the dead person I got from a hospital morgue. I used her death to make my case strong enough to be found guilty. Maya is a wonderful girl, I do never hurt her. Go to the cottage she's there—"

"Abraham immediately send our men over there to get her and also send for her family"

"On it"

" I'm happy I took the pains away. The thorns on the skin of my family, I took them all away. The people that help Mr William James are also in the flashdrive. I won't be able to say everything so you will see them all in the flash because that is where I stored all information. Stacy David the daughter of Mayor David. Take good care of yourself and go back to your father he loves you. My father killed the woman hacker that helped hide your identity because she wanted to help your father. Since my father wanted everything that your father has, he didn't want you to get to know your father more. Your uncles are in it with him. You're a good detective. Keep it up and don't forget to marry Abraham Jesse he loves you a lot" she chuckles "Goodbye Stacy"

Stacy broke down again "why is the world so cruel? Why?" She cried her eyes out. She takes her phone and calls the hospital "how is she?"

"She's in coma"

"Okay. Thank you" she breaths out in relief. At least she's not dead.

Maya came into the police station with officers leading her. Her family in joy.

"Mom" she utters with tears as she hugged her Mom, "Dad" she streches her hand towards her father and they hugged. It's a group hug people!
