Somewhere between Sunagakure and Konoha.
"Naruto, slow down. We can't reach Sunagakure faster if we run faster; you'll just tire yourself out," Sakura said.
"I know how it feels to lose a friend. After Sasuke left the village three years ago, I can't lose another one of my friends. Not to mention, the Akatsuki are targeting Gaara just because of the tailed beast inside his body. I can't let them succeed in having Gaara," Naruto declared.
Others present here also understood how Naruto felt right now.
"Kakashi-sensei, how long will it take us to reach Sunagakure?" Naruto asked.
"By tomorrow evening, we should be able to reach Sunagakure," Kakashi replied.
Naruto nodded and continued moving at a faster pace. The next evening, they finally reached Sunagakure, and upon arrival, they received news that Kankuro was injured. Sakura immediately began treating Kankuro as his condition was critical.
After Kankuro was treated, and he provided information about Sasori and a cloth that would aid in locating the culprits, Kakashi sent his ninja hounds to search for the place indicated by the cloth.
As the hounds left, a person arrived with a scroll. While handing it to Kakashi, he said, "This is a message from the Hokage."
Kakashi accepted the scroll and read the message. After reading that 'Team Guy' was coming, he felt relieved, but as he read further, he was shocked to learn that Jiryoku was also on his way.
Seeing a shocked Kakashi, Naruto, Shikamaru, and Choji simultaneously asked, "What happened, Kakashi-Sensei?"
"Hokage told us that 'Team Guy' is coming to Sunagakure, and they are not alone; Jiryoku is also coming with them. Hokage asked him to join the mission," Kakashi explained.
"Why is Granny calling that guy?" Naruto exclaimed angrily.
"I understand your anger towards Jiryoku, but it's not his fault that he's so strong. It's not like Sasuke was the only one weaker than Jiryoku and got humiliated. Neji and we were not spared from his disdain because of our strength, but we didn't rebel, did we? Sasuke had thought of rebelling from the beginning, which is why he did. It's as simple as that. Jiryoku coming on this mission is a good thing; if there are any unexpected turns, Jiryoku will be there, and we will not be harmed in any way, and not to mention chances for saving Kazekage will be higher," Shikamaru reasoned.
"Damn it," Naruto muttered in frustration for being weak and for the arrival of Jiryoku too.
The next morning, Pakkun approached Kakashi and provided information about the location he had obtained after the investigation.
"Pakkun, I have one more thing to ask of you. Please inform Guy and his team about this," Kakashi requested.
Pakkun nodded and then left.

As Jiryoku ran, he mentally requested, "Show me my 'Character Panel,' " to the System.

"So, do you always remain this quiet? Don't you speak?" Tenten asked.
"What is there to speak about? I don't think there is any topic to talk about," Jiryoku replied.
"Okay, then how about I give you a topic? Let's assume that only we were going, and you didn't come with us. What would be our chances of rescuing the Kazekage?" Tenten proposed.
Neji and the others were eager to hear Jiryoku's answer.
"You wouldn't have been able to save the Kazekage," Jiryoku stated.
"Why? Because we're not strong?" Tenten inquired.
"Not at all. With the strength of all of you, it wouldn't be that hard to defeat those Akatsuki members. But even with my presence, it would be impossible for us to save the Kazekage because by the time we reach his location, he must be dead," Jiryoku explained.
Jiryoku's words came as a surprise to all of them because they weren't expecting such an answer from him. They had thought Jiryoku would tell them they were weak.
"How?" Tenten asked.
"We will see about that," Jiryoku replied, he didn't give a proper reason for his answer.
Just as they were talking, Pakkun arrived in front of Guy.
"Hey, Pakkun, what are you doing here? Where is Kakashi?" Guy asked in surprise.
"He is in Sunagakure. He sent me here to inform you that we have located the Kazekage's whereabouts, and it is on the borders of the River Country and Wind Country. Since you are closest to the location, he asked you to go there. He will also follow from behind and try to reach there as soon as possible," Pakkun reported.
"Okay, team, we will be leaving with Pakkun and trying to reach the location as soon as possible," Guy said.
Everyone nodded, and they set off, following Pakkun.
After traveling for half the distance, Pakkun suddenly stopped and said, "Someone is here, in front of us."
Everyone became alert, and Neji activated his Byakugan, saying, "No, he is behind us. Such a huge amount of Chakra, almost half of Jiryoku's Chakra."
Just as Neji finished speaking, a white conical shape rapidly approached them. Everyone dodged it, and the white object collided with a rock, completely obliterating it.
The area filled with dust, and when it settled, Kisame appeared, holding his weapon, Samehada.
"Kisame Hoshigaki, S-Rank Rebel of Kirigakure," Neji identified.
"Oh, so you know me?" Kisame remarked, displaying his teeth.
"Wouldn't they know, after all, I am the one who told them about you?" came a voice. As soon as Kisame heard this voice, he became momentarily confused, feeling like he had heard it before.
After Jiryoku's voice came, Neji and the others moved away from his path, and Jiryoku became clearly visible.
"What's with the flashy entry? According to me, this was trash," Jiryoku commented.
"You? What are you doing here?" Kisame asked in shock, gripping Samehada tightly.
"It's good that you are here. I can take revenge for what you did three years ago," Kisame stated.
"Oh really? But why is your hand shaking?" Jiryoku inquired while walking in Kisame's direction.
"It's excitement, to tear you into pieces," Kisame replied.
"You can lie to yourself and try to boost your morale, but nothing more than that. Let me tell you, your whole body wants to run even though it's not your own body, am I correct?" Jiryoku countered.
