Fukasaku gazed at Jiryoku with disbelief, his mind struggling to process the grim reality before him. He never anticipated that his life would be snuffed out by the hands of Jiryoku. With a trembling voice, he managed to utter a single word, "Future."
Though Fukasaku's words were brief, they carried a weight of meaning that transcended language, and Jiryoku comprehended his unspoken message. It was an acknowledgment of the events that had unfolded, events that Jiryoku had, in a sense, foreseen. Jiryoku's mastery of 'Observation Haki: Future Sight' had allowed him to anticipate Fukasaku's actions, predicting that the old sage would tilt Gamashiro's head – a maneuver that ultimately led to Gamashiro's untimely demise through a single, deadly sword strike.
Fukasaku, in his desperation, had resorted to his 'Frog Kata,' but even this was within Jiryoku's foresight. Every move was a mere dance to Jiryoku, choreographed by the strings of the future. He effortlessly countered Fukasaku's attacks, delivering a swift and decisive blow that brought the sage to his knees.
The only reason Shima's 'Frog Kata' had connected was that Jiryoku had not used his 'Observation Haki: Future Sight' in that moment.
In the blink of an eye, the battlefield changed once more. A colossal black mace materialized out of nowhere, hurtling towards Jiryoku, sending him hurtling towards the unforgiving ground. The assailant was none other than Iwayado, who had seized the opportune moment right after Jiryoku's merciless act against Gamashiro. Jiryoku, thanks to his mastery of 'Observation Haki: Future Sight,' was well aware of this impending assault. He faced a split-second decision – end Fukasaku or dodge Iwayado's lethal strike. Jiryoku opted for the latter and encased his body in a thin layer of focused gravity. Even if Iwayado's attack found its mark, it would not have a profound impact. After piercing Fukasaku's heart, he was sent soaring through the air, carried away by the force of the blow.
Those who could follow the lightning-speed succession of Jiryoku's actions were left in stunned silence. To them, it appeared as if Fukasaku were the catalyst for Gamashiro's tragic fate, a revelation that left them thoroughly perplexed.
Obito couldn't help but comment, "Just as I suspected, Jiryoku possess the ability to glimpse into the future."
Nagato, speaking through the vessel of Pain, added his insights, "But as far as I recall, he didn't possess such an ability when we faced him three years ago."
Obito clarified, "You're correct, three years ago, he didn't have this power. However, when I crossed paths with him while rescuing Deidara, he could predict my every move. He knew my location before I even appeared and could anticipate my actions."
Pain nodded in agreement, acknowledging the undeniable truth of Obito's words.
In that moment, the Fourth Raikage and the others present began to realize that the situation was far more intricate than they had initially perceived.
Kakashi, who stood alongside Tsunade, finally spoke, "Hokage-Sama, I've mentioned before the extraordinary ability of Jiryoku; he might possess the power to see the future."
Tsunade nodded thoughtfully and responded, "I recall, and I also informed Sage Fukasaku of this."
The other Kages present were taken aback. The concept of future sight was a potent and rare ability, especially in the hands of someone as formidable as Jiryoku. They comprehended the gravity of the situation, recognizing that when an opponent can predict their every move, victory becomes nearly assured, provided their strengths are comparable.
Iwayado, after his forceful strike on Jiryoku, carefully captured Fukasaku and carried him to Gamamura and the others.
"Pa," Shima cried out, tears welling up at the sight of Fukasaku's condition.
Gamamura tried to console her, saying, "Shima, calm down. He's not completely gone."
Shima, with a trembling voice, questioned, "But how can he survive such a wound?" Her eyes fixated on the grievous injury that had pierced Fukasaku's heart.
Gamamura reassured her, "Do not worry. Have you forgotten about the 'Secret Treasure of the Toads'?"
Shima's shock was evident as she asked, "Are you really going to use it?"
Gamamura replied, "Though we don't have many, I can at least afford to use one 'Secret Treasure of the Toads' for Fukasaku. Step aside; every moment counts." Without further delay, Gamamura retrieved the 'Secret Treasure of the Toads' and inserted it into Fukasaku. Almost miraculously, the artifact began to heal Fukasaku, who had been on the brink of death.
Fukasaku slowly opened his eyes, his hand instinctively moving to the wound that had almost claimed his life. He asked in disbelief, "Am I alive? Wasn't I supposed to be dead?"
With joy in her voice, Shima exclaimed, "The Great Toad Sage saved you by using the 'Secret Treasure of the Toads.'"
Fukasaku, overwhelmed, expressed his gratitude, "Thank you, Great Toad Sage, for saving my life."
Gamamura responded with a wise nod, "You've dedicated yourself to Mount Myoboku for so long, serving it faithfully. I couldn't let you die. After this battle with the boy, you still have the responsibility of looking after Mount Myoboku."
As they witnessed this extraordinary spectacle of Fukasaku, who had been on the brink of death, returning to life, the others couldn't help but be astonished.
