"Mum, I'll get your inhaler," the man said nervously, searching through the drawers where he usually kept one.

His mother suffered from cough variant asthma, which was typically relieved with a fast-acting bronchodilator inhaler. 

After retrieving the inhaler, he handed it to his middle-aged mother, who took a few breaths and felt her cough subside within seconds.

"I think you need some rest. Let's not discuss this anymore," he suggested, but his mother refused to comply and pleaded, 

"Promise me you won't attend the wedding as planned." She was concerned that her son might behave inappropriately at the wedding, potentially jeopardizing his reputation.

The man's brow furrowed, his gaze darkening as he remembered the way Robin had belittled him on the phone earlier. Determined to teach him a lesson, he replied, "I will."
