"Damn, there are really two children!"
The tattooed man quickly covered his mouth and nose as he spotted two children, knocked down along with the door.
Truth be told, he had also heard from the neighbors that no one was supposed to be inside. But when that little girl looked at him so pleadingly, how could he refuse?
The children—a boy and a girl—were clearly siblings. The girl had already fainted from inhaling too much smoke, while her brother, though conscious, was weak and pinned beneath the fallen door.
Without hesitation, the tattooed man scooped them up—one in each arm—and carried them out of the burning house.
The crowd outside gasped in surprise.
"There really were kids inside!"
"I can't believe the Shen couple left their children at home. Thank goodness that little girl spoke up, or the consequences would've been unimaginable."
