Gu Yang laughed coldly. "Without people like you, the world would be one step closer to peace."
Ryan remained unfazed, merely smiling. "You're right. But I hope my country can achieve peace and stability like this, without war."
"I love my country as much as you love yours. Although it is weak and barren, having endured war and destruction, I still cherish it."
Gu Yang understood. Ryan desired world peace because, without war, his country would not disintegrate.
While she could empathize with his love for his homeland, she did not condone his actions.
"Peace is built on the strength of a nation. If you fall behind, you'll be beaten down. Cathay was once ravaged by war, but our ancestors sacrificed themselves one after another to change the tides. I offer my blood to the Xuanyuan Emperor."
Ryan, however, sought to use the blood of others. Sacrificing oneself is noble; sacrificing someone else is nothing but theft.
