Escalating distrust

Heaven had always conveyed her 'dislike' for Dane to Dominic. Initially, both Heaven and Dominic believed it stemmed from a hint of jealousy on her part. Despite Dominic making time for his family, he seemed to spend more time with his assistant due to work, which could have sparked her feelings. However, recent events had intensified Heaven's aversion to Dane, now rooted in logic rather than just emotion. This escalating dislike led to distrust and raised questions about Dane's loyalty and intentions.

Although Dominic trusted both Dane and his wife, this time he had to make a choice that wasn't between Heaven and Dane. He needed to prioritize his family's safety, setting aside personal feelings.

"Dane," Dominic called, seated in the backseat with eyes on the window.

Dane, who was in the front passenger seat, replied and glanced over his shoulder. "Yes, Sir?"

"After my next affairs, I'll be going alone."

"Where are you going?"
