The chase

A scream came out of Ivy as soon as she slammed the door closed, jumping to the side to hide behind the concrete wall. The second she jumped, bullets riddled the door. Gazing at it with wide eyes, her heart raced in her chest.

If she was a second slower or if she didn't make a quick and critical decision, she could imagine her body lying in a pool of blood.

"She's really going to kill me," she breathed out a jagged breath, turning her head ahead.

There, right outside the front door, were bodies lying lifeless in their pool of blood. It was almost horrifying to think these people had died minutes ago and people didn't even do something about it. They didn't even try saving them.

'Not important!' Ivy shook her head as she glanced at the door, nodding to herself when there was no more gunfire coming from inside. Taking advantage of whatever kept Katherine occupied, Ivy clenched her teeth and ran out of the porch.
