The golden field of barley and rye glistened upon the mild heat of the autumn sun, and so did the foreheads of men coated in large beads of sweat. Sickles swung coinciding with the rhythmic dance of the crops swirling by the wind. A bountiful harvest was expected, yet none of the farmers would reap what they sow in the truest sense. In reality, their wasted effort could be attributed to the repercussions of the machinations of their rulers, the Twin Barons of Gullford, who plunged the province in economic instability through a multitude of debts incurred from the costly rebellion they partook against their rightful overlord.
