Chapter One

It was time to prove to the kingdom that a woman can be much more than a wife, a woman can be a warrior, a woman can rule a kingdom as well and not just being subjected to giving birth.

I signaled the musician to start playing his flute, and then the violin player joined in. With joy in their heart they all waited eagerly to watch me dance like I did when I was a child not until I shot the first arrow that went slightly above the elders head straight into the heart of my target.

Every one gasped, but I did not care I picked up the second arrow fixed it into my bow, looked into my second target eyes and then let it go. this time around everyone had put their heads into their hands. The arrow moved in a slow motion but at the same time fast, another clean hit on the forehead. I was impressed and so was grand pa.

I stopped myself from shooting the third one because at this point, the king had clenched his fist in anger. I saw the disappointment in his eyes, he was totally enraged.

This isn't the way a princess ought to behave, the word echoed in my ears because that's what ma kept on saying to me. I did not choose royalty but royalty choose me, and I refuse to be controlled by my parents, I shall do as I please.

I took a bow and went to seat at the right hand side of prince Albert. He looked rather frightened, he just realized that the woman he bought is a tigress. I looked like an angel on the outside but inside I was a devil. I showed this by putting on a golden gown designed with black, which wasn't allowed. Let's just say I love breaking the roles.

The king wasn't pleased with my action at all, but what has been done cannot be undone.the atmosphere was soon cleared by a dance performance. The king forced a smile on his face each time the queen stylishly taps him. But to my amazement my in_laws don't look troubled at all, they seem rather pleased. What the hell, I thought by now they would have looked for a means of cancelling this marriage after my display, probably they would say it after the ceremony, they want to save the king from the embarrassment.

The day was gradually coming to an end, darkness was setting in, prince Albert and his family had to go back to their kingdom which was a days journey. And i had to go to, I don't belong here anymore. I won't be seeing the King and queen for a long time especially grand pa, he made me the warrior that I am today. I am going to miss them so much.
