The gods stood from their thrones, their divine robes flowing with ethereal light as they approached the one god who had been calming the temper of the deities since the beginning of their council. Her presence had been the guide and guardian of the soul since the memorial of creation, and now, they had a crucial matter to discuss with her and her otherworldy attendant.

(Loid POV)

"What?"

•Lets go out•

"Why?"

• because i said so•

•MAKINA!!!, HELP!!!•

°Loid, lower the armament°

As the unreasonable goddess spurted absurd words, my hand immediately turned into an armament that looked like a sci-fi gun that could have easily come out of the robotic hands of a protagonist—or any sci-fi character for that matter—in a sci-fi movie.

Despite its cool sci fi like design having no actual contribution to its performance a I just wanted it to look cool at me wielding it. I aimed the armament at the goddess's avatar's head.

But as the cowardly and sly goddess called for Makina, my intended attempt quickly turned into nothing but just attempt, as Makina scolded me and I reluctantly lowered my gun.

•Hey, you dirty mortal! This gracious goddess is neither unreasonable nor are my enchanting words absurd! And this goddess possesses neither cowardice nor slyness!•

"Stop reading my mind!!!"

"(Ugh, why do I always forget she can read my mind? Maybe because I keep thinking about how pathetic and pettiful she is...)"

•I am not pettiful!•

As if to silence my thoughts, the goddess protested. But much like a thief denying their crime, a pettiful person would never admit they are pettiful.

•Grrr!!! As I said, I'm not!!!•

°Goddess, compose yourself. Don't forget why we're here.°

•Errgh... As I said, we have to go now.•

"And like I said, why?"

°For that question, allow me to explain.°

As the goddess gave up on her pitiful attempts to justify herself and repeated her unreasonable demand, Makina stepped in to explain the reasoning behind the goddess's request, attempting to make sense of it.

"Wait, why wasn't I invited?"

°There's no way I would let you face the gods, the governors of this world, with your current behavior—especially with how you've been behaving toward Goddess Aksa lately.°

•That's right, that's right! You'd only bring dishonor to me if I let you meet them as you are now. You can't even respect me, the great goddess! How could you possibly face the other gods without embarrassing me?•

"That's a completely different matter. The way I treat you is because you deserve it! Like they say, 'eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.' If you want to be treated well, you should treat others the same way."

•Then why aren't you treating me right? I've treated you with nothing but grace!•

"There's no way treating people with your pitiful behavior is showing them any kind of grace! You need to redo how you treat people!"

°Compose yourselves, both of you.°

As we exchanged our usual banter, I will quickly summarized what Makina had said, which had led to this dispute in the first place.

During the broadcast of the stream back in our world, the realm where gods and deities gather was in turmoil.

The deities had stirred up a riot, demanding divine punishment be brought upon humanity due to what they claimed was blasphemy against themselves and the other gods.

While the goddess had been tasked with calming the deities, the other gods—excluding her—proceeded with their meeting.

I wanted to laugh at the goddess for being forced to deal with the fury of the deities while being excluded from the meeting, but since it was Makina delivering the news, I had to stay silent for now. With her standing right in front of me, I knew I had to behave.

Still, I made a mental note to mock the goddess about it later.

Returning to the topic at hand, after the meeting of the gods—excluding the goddess—

•HEY! I can hear you!•

°Goddess, it is unbefitting of you to interrupt the conversation. Such behavior shows disrespect. Please refrain and behave in a manner befitting your grace.°

•Ugh... I'm sorry, Makina.•

°There's no need to apologize, Goddess. Everything is for your benefit.°

Reading my thoughts and rudely interrupting while Makina was speaking, the goddess earned herself a reprimand. She quickly apologized, and Makina accepted it on her own terms.

Now then, back to the topic. After the meeting of the gods—excluding the goddess in front of me, who was gritting her teeth as she read my thoughts—Makina explained that the gods had discussed the situation to the goddess, what the conclusion they reached, and asked if the goddess agreed with it.

The goddess nodded in agreement. With that settled, the gods then requested to speak with Goddess other worlder attendant—who was supposed to be me—to discuss the situation further and seek my cooperation moving forward.

As the goddess agreed with the arrangement proposed by the other gods, she tried to contact me.

However, it was Makina who received the call instead. I had a feeling of suspicion that somehow, Makina had intercepted the call. If I had to guess why, it was probably because I'd been constantly complaining about the goddess invading my thoughts and reading them. If it was Makina, she likely came up with some sort of solution—though incomplete, it was still impressive.

As expected of her.

When Makina received the message, she asked the goddess why she had called.

The goddess stayed silent for a moment, likely bewildered that Makina answered instead of me.

The Goddess snaps out of her bewilderment, tells Makina the reason for her call, and asks Makina to hand the call over to me.

However, upon hearing what the Goddess is calling for— the same thing she mentioned earlier—Makina, simulating what might happen if I misconduct and offend the other gods, decides to take my place to eliminate such possibility and protect me. Makina then asks if it's okay for her to take my place

The Goddess, asking for the reason why, listens as Makina comes up with a logical explanation that Goddess will probably buy and said that the Goddesss might be embarrassed if I offend the other gods. Upon hearing this reason, and the Goddess thinking of my behavior, buyed it and allows Makina to take my place.

At that moment, Makina took my place, and for the first time in a long while, I heard her say some vague words: *"In your stead, the Goddess and I will meet the other gods in another realm."*

There was no mention of how they would travel or what place they were going to, but I let it slide, sensing that Makina, despite her nonchalance, was secretly embarrassed by her vague statement.

Although it doesn't happen often, when Makina is vague, it's usually because she's hiding something or trying to figure something out—like when there's information she doesn't have.

This reminded me of the early days when I would bombard her with questions, and she'd fall silent while searching and downloading data to provide me with answers.

Now, it rarely happens, since most of the publicly available data from our world is already in her database, reducing the chances of her being unable to answer me to near zero.

Back to the matter at hand—considering all of this, I found myself thinking how reckless it was for Makina to go alone, well, aside from the Goddess, to meet the gods.

I even felt angry at her... at least, I did at first. But I quickly realized I had no right to criticize her.

Without a doubt, Makina could carry herself far better than I ever could in front of the gods.

So, knowing I had no grounds to reprimand her for the action she took—since I knew I lacked the capability to do anything about it anyway—I simply listened to her speak.

*°And now, here we are.°*

"…Haaa (sigh), so what do we do now?"

*°…As we don't have any concrete data on the location of others, it has been simulated that accepting the gods' proposal could prove beneficial, especially if we can gain their support and favor in exchange for the cooperation they're asking for.°*

Makina fell silent and stared at me through her vessel's eyes, waiting for my decision. Although she already knew this was the best course of action, she still waited for me to decide.

Looking into her eyes, I could sense that even if I refused, Makina would still support me and follow my decision.

I closed my eyes, recalling how she had made the decision to answer the Goddess's call and go in my place without informing me.

Despite that, she still sought my approval now, refraining from taking action without my consent.

I almost wished she would just make the decision herself, especially if she knew it was for the best.

I wanted to tell her that if she made a decision, she should stick with it until the end.

But despite feeling a bit frustrated by her earlier actions, I sighed and let it go. After all, just as I had trusted her decisions before, I would trust her now.

Her simulations and reasoning had always been more reliable than my instincts, well, most of the time

"Alright. So, where are we going and what we have to do?"

I smiled at her to show my agreement. After that, a flood of information came from Makina as she calmly, yet with excitement hidden beneath the surface, relayed more details based on the data she had gathered through her simulations.
