Riding the wicked motorcycle, I twisted the throttle harder, the engine roaring louder. Dark fumes burst from the exhaust pipe, leaving a dramatic trail as I closed in on the lone knight.

With a bat gripped firmly in one hand, I aimed for a clean hit—ready to score a strike to the knight's head.

Racing to where the knight was, you could expect it would be easy, leaving aside the projectiles that I evaded and blocked by Makina, the next one would be much more troublesome the more I get near to the lone knight

As if to prove me right, the knight's silhouette—composed of geometric transparent barriers that resembled folded paper or origami—shifted ominously. I had to admit, it looked cool, but that was beside the point.

The knight's giant, geometric figure raised its massive, angular right arm and swung a colossal transparent sword, its geometric edges rushing toward me with the intent to slice me in half.

Without hesitation, I turned the handlebars sharply, tilting the motorcycle into a slide maneuver straight out of an action movie. Just like a protagonist sliding their bike under a big truck or obstacle, I leaned low, guiding the motorcycle to glide smoothly under the knight's sword slash.

evading the slash without stoping

"As expected of susanoo tecknique or Stand, no, it too big to called it stand, well leaving this aside, it my turn!!!"

With that, I retracted my hand from the portal, which vanished immediately. In its place, another portal appeared, as if to substitute for the first. From this new portal emerged a familiar pole—a weapon that had essentially become one of my signature techniques, used in nearly every battle I've fought.

Revealing the unmistakable shape of a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), or as some kids might call it, a bazooka, I pointed it directly at the lone knight and prepared to fire its first round in this battle.

The rocket launched, propelling itself with a fiery burst toward its assigned target—the knight's head. But before it could strike, the knight's silhouette moved its left arm, raising it as if to shield itself. Strangely, the hand wasn't positioned directly in the rocket's path, which may left the onlookers bewildered.

However, with my enhanced vision active, the reason was clear. The knight didn't need its hand to block the attack

As the rocket propelled itself, suddenly with thunderous roar, it explode shrouding the battlefield in smoke and fire.

Despite my naked eyes failing to perceive anything that caused the rocket to explode, my enhanced vision revealed the truth. A transparent shield, attached to the knight's left hand, had blocked the rocket. The shield became visible as it emerged from the smoke, standing as an imposing defense.

Normally, one might retreat when faced with such a formidable barrier—a shield so large it could be treated as a wall. However, there was no need for that. The rocket had already served its purpose, successfully destroying the enchanted Last Guard skill imbued in the shield with by render ability, rendering it vulnerable.

Continuing my unbroken drive on the motorcycle, undeterred even for a moment, I tightened my grip on the bat in my hand. I swung it confidently toward the shield, even though the distance was still beyond my initial reach.

That "initial reach," however, was only the beginning. In an instant, I made the bat grow larger and longer, extending its reach to its final form. With a thunderous strike, the enhanced bat smashed into the knight's silhouette, shattering its barrier-made shield with raw force.

The lone knight twitched as if in surprise. Despite losing the Last Guard skill, the shield's barrier alone should have been more than capable of fending off any attack from someone with an E-rank status. Its stats alone clearly supported that assumption, but...

"I may be E-rank,"

I declared with a sly grin,

"but who said my stats are? Take a better second look!"

"Compute that I'm ahead in stats! You're not the only one who can merge with minions, you fool!"

^Essence 9: Life Resonating Fragment Essence detected.^

"Shoot it down! For god's sake, Goddess, shoot it down!"

•I'm a god too, you know... Ahh, fine!•

At that moment, portals opened, revealing gun barrels that emerged and fired relentlessly at the Life Resonating Fragment Essence within the lone knight. However, the shots only managed to break the Last Guard skill imbued into the knight's armor.

"Sebastian, you're up!"

^As you command.^

The motorcycle transformed, its ropes sharpening at the ends and moving like tentacles. They coiled around the lone knight, forcefully positioning it before piercing through its armor, breaking it apart.

The ropes then aimed directly for the Life Resonating Fragment Essence, but with Last Guard still protecting it, they only managed to destroy the skill, leaving the fragment intact.

As if fed up, the lone knight dropped its shield and sword, raising both hands in an attempt to crush me between its grasp.

I may slow reading between the lines especialy compare to Makinaa, but I'm no slowpoke. With that thought, I swiftly cut the rope connecting me to the motorcycle and dismounted. Positioning myself on the seat, I leaped off, performing a backflip. My legs stretched fully during the motion, giving it the appearance of a scene straight out of a female-led action movie—graceful and deliberate.

But there was no time to dwell on the elegance of my move. As if to greet my daring leap, a barrier materialized in the form of geometric shield, closing in on me like a rushing bull from both sides. It moved with the intent to crush me as it had attempted earlier, making me question whether this knight was truly the honorable figure I had assumed.

Well, leave it at that. After all, according to Earth's principles, there are no rules in war or love. Although the love part doesn't apply here, I'm just quoting it because it's part of the saying. What I mean is, there's no need to adhere to chivalry when lives are on the line.

Following that principle, I can do the same.

•Hurry up, ungrateful apostle. I cannot hold this for long.•

At that moment, a portal opened, and the goddess greeted me impatiently. Wasting no time, I dashed into the portal. As if to trade places with me, a warhead was dropped in exchange as we fled through the portal.

Emerging on the other side, I found myself by Makina's side. She had already positioned her railgun, aimed and ready, loaded with a combination of ammunition and spells made possible through the mimic ability, Render.

"I apologize, lone knight, but war is not fought alone."

I paused, reflecting briefly.

"That would've been an awesome line to end on, but now that I think about it, maybe you weren't alone after all. You absorbed your comrades and fought alone in the end. Well, the world is cruel, so make sure your decisions are well thought out next time. Farewell, lone knight."

Confirming that we had arrived safely, Makina fired the railgun into the portal, aiming precisely at the lone knight's position. The goddess closed the portal as soon as the shot was delivered.

But the world is indeed cruel.

Just as the portal was about to close, a sharp shard made of barriers managed to pierce through in the final moment. Simultaneously, Makina's enchanted bullet hit the warhead, triggering a massive explosion. The spell imbued in the bullet amplified the explosion's magnitude, creating a devastating spectacle.

In also a cruel twist of fate, as if it wanted to replicate the same scenery mentioned earlier, a shard struck true at me, slicing through the air and reaching me, slicing through my neck. Blood spurted as it severed my head cleanly, causing my head to fly as spectacularly as the explosion happened at front

"I thought knights weren't supposed to favor sneaky attacks..."

I muttered, my voice fading with each passing moment.

"I take back what I said... You follow the rulebook of war and love very well. An excellent work indeed..."

With that, my head reaches the floor and bounces off from the floor and then rolls away over, leaving a spectacular trail of blood as my eyes reflect the scenery that surrounds me and especially the face of my compatriot.
