"I want to have a D.N.A. test" I blurted out. Everyone in the room became quiet and I looked up to see how shocked Finn was by my request and stopped what he was doing to stare at me. I was shocked myself, I didn't know why I asked for it but I needed to make sense of what was happening.

"Huh?" He looked confused. I sat up and brought my legs down. I was crying too much and my chest was hurting me. I was scared it might explode.

"I want to have a D.N.A. tes...."

"No! You are not getting anything done. Can't you see? They are lying! All of them. My mum, your dad, they are all lying! You and I are going home and getting married!" He yelled hysterically while pacing around the room.

Shattered souls

"You know, my dining is not meant for paperwork" Mum frown at us disapprovingly as she came into the living room from the kitchen and started arranging some plates. It was lunchtime. 


I was helping Dad sort out some employees' contracts. His family where the founders of a construction company in Boston with branches in the neighboring countries. He claimed it was my responsibility to learn and take over the family business like he did when he eventually retire but office work was never my interest. I was working so hard to get a baseball scholarship and become a professional with a Job. Marry Elena and have kids although I haven't discussed the part of marriage and having kids with her yet. I did not know her plans and I didn't want to rush her. 


"I am sorry Mrs. Tanner but we are almost done here" Dad winked at Mum.
