Sandwiches Calculation

Li Biyu returned home late, her mother was already preparing dinner when she got home holding a yellow polythene bag.

"Dear, you returned home quite late" her mother appeared from the kitchen cleaning her hands with a rag.

"What are you holding Biyu?" She asked curiously, Biyu was the kind of person who wasn't so lucky to receive gifts anywhere she went.

"It's nothing mum, it's the sandwiches we all had together. I took a piece then I decided to bring some back home for Li Wei and dolly" Biyu replied bringing out the sandwiches and putting them in a small basket.

She wanted to join her mother in the kitchen, but the hot pot was ready and her mother was making the dumplings.

"Go freshen up, don't help me"

Li Biyu went to the bedroom. Despite the fact that the room was very little, it is very neat and beautiful.

The bed was small but neat, the wardrobe filled with neat worn out clothes, and the floor was very tidy and well cleaned.

Biyu shared the room with her mother, she use to share the other room with Li Wei but ever since they turned thirteen, her mother had asked her to leave the room for Li Wei since they were both growing up.

"You both aren't getting younger, so it's inappropriate for the both of you to be sharing the same room and bed" she had said.

Li Biyu opened her wardrobe and brought out her diary and a pen, she was smiling as she wrote all today's incident down.

"Yo sis!" Li Biyu quickly closed her diary as she heard Li Wei's voice, she wouldn't want him to see all what she had written down on the book.

He scoffed, "I was hungry through out the day Biyu" he sat on a stool. "I know you had a pleasant day at the supermarket" he continued.

"Relax, I never went to the supermarket. Sir Lanzuo seems not to understand the fact that I'm a student of Ai high school and I won't be able to go to the supermarket during school days. So today he sent me back home" she narrated to Li Wei who listened keenly.

"But you never returned home" Li Wei continued.

"Yeah...I just hanged out with celestial Jie and queen Ai isn't that amazing. Celestial Jie's friend even gave me sandwiches and I...."

As she spoke, Li Wei got up all of a sudden and dashed in to the kitchen.

Li Biyu wondered what was wrong with him, he only returned with the basket she had kept the sandwiches.

"You meant to say celestial Jie gave you these?" Li Wei asked, his face filled with happiness.

"Yeah, it's amazing so I brought three back home, one for me, you and for dolly. We...."

"What dolly?" Li Wei asked her quite surprisedly, Li Biyu wasn't going to give one sandwich to her kitten right?

"Of course my kitt...."

"You can buy sandwiches from your Lanzuo supermarket to give dolly, but so far it was celestial Jie that bought these with his own money I won't let you waste even a crumb. So it's better we share it equally" Li Wei suddenly sounded serious.

How low could Li Biyu stoop!

"No no Li Wei, dolly must have a bite!" She retorted.

Li Biyu wasn't surprised with what Li Wei had said, he always wants a fair share whenever it comes to food and money, he could share a 50¥ among hundred people equally, he could also share a single grain of rice with 3 people.

So he did most of the calculations when it comes to sharing of money and food, maybe this got to do with him been a poor person.

Li Wei would only give remnants of foods to animals, he never bought them milk, he would claim that milk were meant for humans.

"Look, you got two choices concerning this sandwich" he paused then continued. "We got three sandwiches here, we either share them one and a half each or you give me the one you were suppose to give dolly so I'll have two then you get one, you'll assume that I'm the dolly that ate one" he said seriously as he held the sandwiches tighter.

"No! You're a cheat Li Wei. I was the one who brought the sandwiches home and you wanna eat more than me!" She protested loudly.

Li Wei chuckled, "it doesn't make any differences, you would have eaten one if you gave one to dolly"

"I know that! But I rather give them all to dolly than to let you have all!" She continued in a smirk.

"And I rather get all than to let you give one to dolly. So the choice is yours!"

He was done with the sandwiches calculation, Biyu had no other choice than to accept the sandwiches one and a half.

But it was hers, why should Li Wei be the one sharing it?

She accepted the one and a half, she gave the half to her cat then ate the big one.

Li Biyu relaxed at the living room then decided to go online, it's been days since she went online.
