4 End Of Happiness (Part 4)

The castle was continuously shaking and falling apart due to the battle between Diana and Melvin. Their clash of powers was too much for the castle to handle and the walls were crumbling.

Melvin was going in for an attack when, out of nowhere, he was punched by a giant fist

'What was that?' he wondered as his body slammed into the wall and it instantly crumbled as he coughed up blood. He glared towards Diana and cleaned the blood trickling down his lips

Coming out from Diana's back, were numerous arms that were tainted black with only the fingertips being white. The arms were like an extension of Diana's body but also didn't exist as a part of her body...much like a phantom limb.

"You....are a man who tossed away his daughters because he hated their mother" Diana said as she set her hands ablaze and got rid of the phantom limbs before launching at Melvin "Neinhart, will fall today"

Melvin got to his feet and poured most of his mana into the longsword

"I will not let this kingdom fall because Claris' daughter said so" he said as his eyes glowed brightly

Due to all the ruckus, Lucia had awoken and looked out her bedroom window. She sucked in a deep breath as her aqua eyes illuminated with the bright colours of the flames spreading around the capital.

"The human race...is under attack" she mumbled as she looked up into the sky and could see several flashes going off in the sky "The other race is also under attack and they can't help" the castle shook again and she rubbed her chest to calm down

'My father. I've got to get out of here and find my father' she thought as she jolted out of the room and was met with the immense heat

She turned to the side and noticed the only hallway leading down was on fire and the building had already collapsed there but there was one noticeable thing under the rubble - the corpse of a royal guard. She looked away and instead ran through the hallway leading up.

'The fire has already spread but it probably happened while everyone was sleeping. If not, everyone would have evacuated... including me'

As she continued running, she reached a hallway were the ground had already caved in and the fire could be seen. She looked around and found a narrow path which she carefully stepped on while using the wall as support. She missed a step and almost fell in but she held on tightly and lifted herself up while causing an injury to her forehead.

She then continued down the narrow path until there was enough room for her to run again. As she continued running, she ditched her heels and tore her dress until her knees.

'Dad, please be fine'

Meanwhile

The battle between Diana and Melvin had already reached it's end. Melvin laid on his side in a bloody mess and behind him, the walls collapsed which displayed the destroyed town.

"You might be the royal with the strongest bloodline magic but you forgot something important" Diana said with a sinister smile "You're human" she pointed out

"Dad"

"Who is that?" Diana murmured as she turned her head towards the sound and noticed Lucia running through the door and hugging Melvin

"Why are you doing something so cruel? Who are you?" Lucia asked as she looked at Diana but a fireball was already heading her way. In that instant, Melvin pushed her out of the way and used the longsword to cut the fireball

"Lucia? H-How? W-what are....you..." before Melvin could complete his sentence, he was grabbed by one of Diana's phantom limbs and lifted into the air and the sword fell out of his hand

"Can you just shut up already?" Diana asked as she increased her grip and Melvin struggled to keep his consciousness

"You....your voice....which one are you?" Lucia asked in fear "Jane...or...Annabel? Or....are you both?"

Diana snickered "You can call us Diana, Lucia" she said "We're two people in one"

Lucia instantly picked up the sword that Melvin had dropped

"What....are you...doing?" Melvin as he coughed up blood and activated more of his bloodline "Run...please"

Diana smiled before looking at Melvin "I told you...shut up" she said and white lines went up the entirety of the phantom limb holding Melvin and before Melvin could say more, he lost consciousness

"Dad!!!Dad!!!What did you do to him?" Lucia asked

"I cursed him" Diana said "He will stay asleep for two years and when he wakes up, Neinhart will be gone and he'll die" she held her chin and smiled "Maybe, I'll slowly kill him this way"

"Jane would never do th...."

"Of course she wouldn't" Diana interrupted "Jane is currently asleep. And I hate Neinhart and everyone in it. That's why I'm going to destroy everything"

Tears fell down Lucia's eyes and she almost crumbled to her knees

"We were meant to be a family" Lucia mumbled as Annabel lifted her hand and a fireball gathered

Diana frowned "There you go again....blabbing all that nonsense. You've really ruined my mood" she gritted her teeth "Let's end this" she threw her hand out to release the fireball.

Inside of Diana

Jane woke up and pushed Annabel's hand before taking control of a part of Diana and reducing the amount of magic that was put into the fireball.

Outside

Diana had a look of shock as her hand slightly shifted and the fireball thrown out, hit Lucia in the gut and sent her falling from the large hole in the wall, to her death.

However, Lucia who was falling had no hatred towards them. In the end, she felt worried about them and wished she could have stopped them from taking such a path.

She stretched her hand forward

'I wish....I could have saved them. My...family' she thought

"I wonder...how did things end up...this...way?" she mumbled as she lost consciousness with tears flowing out her eyes and a white longsword in her hand. She landed in the cold waters of a dam which took her away.

Diana looked out the hole in the wall and couldn't find Lucia. She frowned and her eyes turned deadly

"Care to explain what that was all about, Jane?" she shouted

Out in the capital, the hooded woman stood surrounded by the corpses of beasts

"This was all...such a pain" she said as she pulled her sword out from a beast "Now, back to keeping an eye on the princess. I doubt she'd die like that" she murmured as she began to walk out of the capital and slaughtered any beast that got in her way
