Chapter 4:Who said that it was over?

Alex stood up and coughed out some blood.Being a beginner mage his body wasn't as strong as intermediate mages who wouldn't get injured from a single beginner level spell.He looked around

Ambrose was being bullied by the griffin.Simon and his lackeys were laughing at the scene.Ambrose blocked a fatal attack from the griffin but got a chunk of flesh taken away from his left arm.He groaned in pain.

It's over said the earth mage.He summoned an earth lance hoping to impale Ambrose.He went in for the blow but before he could piece through Ambrose's leg several shadow wisps lashed out at him impaling him instead.Suddenly a shadow formed in front of him and said "who said that it was over?"

Black energy filled half of the training ground which was fairly big and a person stood in between it shrouded by the darkness.The darkness covered the earth user and the next thing others heard were maniacal screams.The screams were so loud one could hear them from the auditorium.

Simon and the rest were scared including Ambrose.What kind of torture does one need to undergo to make someone scream like that?What terrified them the most was that what followed was a satisfying laughter.

When the darkness was gone,all they could see was the earth user still impaled by the shadow whips and a lot of scars on him and he was crying begging saying "please please make it stop" but all he got was just a chuckle from the Alex.

"Who's next?" Alex asked with a sneer

"Get him" shouted Simon.

The water user,the earth user and the griffin charged towards Alex at the same time.Alex activated his spell through thought shadow travelling.He suddenly appeared at the back of the earth user and slashed ferociously at him with a shadow whips which left a huge scar with blood flowing blood flowing out of the guys back.He went crashing to the ground.

The water user created a ball of water and enclosed it around Alex's head with the intention of drowning him .It caught Alex off guard and he was struggling to retain consciousness and he was barely able to activate the skil shadow travel but he managed to then he appeared in the water mage's shadow and summoned multiple whips to tie him up gave him a brutal punch which knocked him out

The griffin had been waiting for the right moment to attack.As it saw that Alex's guard was down,he went for a slash to his back with it's sharp talons but Alex's black vein[a power which only belongs to shadow mages that warns them whenever they are in life threatening situations] warned him of impeding death then he shadow travelled immediately then he stared at the griffin hatefully.No matter what he wasn't strong enough yet to defeat the griffin.Meanwhile Ambrose just stood there shocked about the sudden change of events
