Chapter 22

Going through my closet, I chose my navy blue pants suit with a white dress shirt to wear for my first official day as the CEO of the company. Over the past few years, I have been working in the company as a Studio Engineer. Being able to work closely with the artists has not only helped me in refreshing my schooling, but it allowed me to establish a connection with the artists. I already have an assistant that is coming here to ride with me to the office. My dad put Huxley in charge of finding me one to start with but I can pick a new one if I am not impressed with them. When I asked Huxley for the information on my assistant, all I got was him telling me to trust him. He is confident that I will like the person he chose.

"Wow, mommy. You look so smart!" Tucker says as he opens my door. "Not that you didn't before. It just shows with what you're wearing."

I laugh as I pick him up to head downstairs. "Thank you, my prince. You don't think it's to much?"

Tuck smiles at me showing all of his pearly whites. "I think it's perfect."

We get to the foyer before I set him down. He immediately takes off to the kitchen where I can hear my parents talking. Walking in after Tuck, I see my parents sipping on coffee. Deciding I need another cup, I fill my travel cup to the brim before I go to head out.

"Your assistant should be here in a moment, Nat. Please don't be to hard on them today," Dad says without even looking up from what Tucker was now showing him on the tablet. No doubt, it is something for his birthday.

"I don't know what you mean. I am never hard on new employees," I tell him with a innocent smile. My words are mostly truthful because newbies are pushed hard so they can make it in this business.

Dad looks at me over the rim of his cup as he lifts it up to his face. "You know exactly what I mean. They are an assistant, not some fresh out of college new comer."

I just chuckle at him as I hear the doorbell go off. Huxley is coming down the stairs as I am walking to the door and I can see the smirk on his face. When I open the door, Everett is standing there with a briefcase in hand.

"Are you my new assistant?" I ask in hope. If he is the person that Hux chose then I will never get rid of him.

"Reporting for duty, boss. I have been looking for a job to get away from that crappy one I was at and Huxley thought that we would work well together," Everett says with a smile as he salutes me. With a laugh, I give him a hug before turning to Huxley.

"You could have told me that it was Everett," I told him with a playful punch to his arm.

"And ruin the surprise? Not even in your dreams," Huxley says as he returns the punch.

Turning to Everett, I am now ready to get the day started with one of my closest friends to help me through the day. "Okay boys, let's get going."

In the car, Everett fills me in on what meetings I have today, which is not a lot, as well as which artists are going to be in the studio today. I only make a slight change to my schedule to go to the studio to see how everything is going. Huxley just watches the interaction with concentration before his phone goes off.

Pulling out his phone, I hear him curse under his breath before sending the person a text. "Are you ever going to return his calls?" Automatically, this tells me that it is Christopher.

I look out of the window as I think of my answer. After witnessing Chelsea arriving to his house late Saturday night, I have avoided his calls while I try to make sense of it all. He has called both my cell phone and the house phone as well as texting me. Now he is contacting my brothers. Well, one that I know of so far.

"I will talk to him when I'm ready. I need to find out more information before I make a decision and talk to him," I finally reply.

We arrive at the company as Draco pulls into the VIP section for us to get out. Everett gets out first as Hux and I follow. Stepping into the elevator, I scan my ID card to let the computer know the right person is in the elevator. This is the private elevator that is only accessible to my brothers and me. If anyone else tries to use it, nothing will work nor will the doors shut. The one thing I like about this elevator is that you can't feel it move.

A ding sounds signaling that we had reached the executive floor which is on the 20th floor of the building. We walk out and pass the receptionist, Jayla, who has worked here for 15 years. She smiles at us when she sees us and says good morning to us. Huxley winks at her as I smile back with a wave and a good morning.

Huxley goes to his office as Everett and I go to mine. The office sits at the end of the hallway so that the floor could be monitored if I wish to do so. Everett opens the door for me to walk in to the front room that is where is desk is stationed. There is a door to the right of his that leads to my office. The wall separating them is a glass wall with blackout blinds. I worked with a design team on how I wanted my office to look and I'm anxious to see it. He follows me into my office so we could get the day started. Scanning my palm, the door clicks open. This security feature comes in handy when I want to lock my office. If I am leaving for any reason, I can scan my handprint to lock it and the only way to unlock it is for someone with the clearance to access it. The only people allowed in are my family and Everett since he is my assistant.

The office is decorated in a modern theme of grey, white, and black. The walls are painted grey that goes great with the marble floor. My shelves and cabinets are all black with silver accents decorating the perimeter. Two white couches are seated on the opposite side of the wall the door is on with a glass coffee table in between them on a silver metallic grey cowhide rug. My desk is white and black paired with a dark grey desk chair. The designer decorated the walls with abstract art that just ties the room together.

I walk over and sit down at my desk to turn on my computer but it's already on. Looking at Everett, he gets a big smile on his face. "I came in early and got everything turned on for you. There is also coffee ready to go over at your coffee corner. The only thing not done is you phone since I don't know your code," Everett says.

"Thanks, Everett. I really appreciate it," I tell him before pulling my schedule up on the computer. "When is Adams lunch break?" Adam works in our design department as the department director. He is the person responsible for designing album covers as well other things.

"Eleven, I told him that I would let him know mine for incase it's after he can bring us both food," Everett says with a laugh. I can see him already plotting to promote Adam to our lunch boy.

"No need for that," I say with a laugh. "Your lunch break is the same time as his." Everett pauses his scheming to look at me in confusion.

"Is that actually the time or are you changing it for me?" He asks with a perfectly shaped eyebrow raised. This man's facial routine and maintenance makes mine look nonexistent.

"It's when I say it is. No one can say otherwise," I tell him with a smirk. "Also, I was wondering if you wanted to work on my face later? Your eyebrow game is on point."

Everett looks at me with a evil smile. "I get to inflict pain?"

I laugh at this since this has been our thing since we met. First it was used for pranking my brothers. Now it's for when I ask him to help me with facials. I didn't ever have a problem with acne or anything but my eyebrows tend to have a mind of their own.

"Yes, you get to inflict pain. Just don't make the same mistake you did last time with the wax," I tell him as I point my finger at him.

Everett salutes me before we get going on todays work. We go over the latest reports on the music charts and sells. At nine o'clock, we go to our first meeting which was more of a little chat since I already knew my big executives other than my brothers. This lasted until 9:45 and we went to get a coffee refill before our next meeting. The next meeting started at ten and was a video call with our top partners. Everyone introduced themselves as we only had a hour slot for the meeting. Eleven finally rolls around and I send Everett to go get Adam for lunch. He told me that he would bring me back a plate from wherever they go.

I'm sitting at my desk when I hear heels clicking on the floor outside of the office. As the clicks get closer, a females voice calls out. "Jaxon? I know you're in there. Are you stressed? Like I told you last time, I can help you relax. Will you let me in?"

The voice belongs to the company slut, Kristen Smith. I was wondering if she would ever show up. My brothers have all taken turns on stepping into my position. The fact that this huzzy is at my office door under the intention of seducing my brother angers me. I stand up and go to the door. I yank open the door to a startled looking Kristen.

"No thank you. I'm not stressed at all so you can go now," I tell her as I motion for her to leave.

She looks at me with a sneer, "Why are you in Jaxon's office? You sleeping with the boss?"

I just look at her like she is crazy. The fact that she doesn't know who I am is making me question how she even got hired here when she is so oblivious to what's been going on since Friday. I will definitely be looking into her file.

Kristen looks at me for a moment longer before she goes to Everett's desk and picks up the phone. She doesn't realize we have coded phones that is locked when we leave our offices for any reason. "I'm calling security to come remove you from the premises as well as blacklisted."

"How can you kick me out of my own Company?" I ask her pretending to be interested in what she was saying.

Kristen looks at me like I was crazy before she steps up to me. Everett walks in holding the to-go bag with my lunch in it, stopping in his tracks when he notices what is going on. "This is not your company. It belongs to the Anderson family and Jaxon is the son of Darius Anderson. He is the one who is to take over the company, not some uneducated bitch like you that came in off the street."

Uneducated? Does she not realize how uneducated she looks right now? "You must not have a TV or can read. Grab that paper that is laying on the desk and take a good look at it."

Kristen grabs the paper as Everett walks over with the bag of food. "Here's your lunch, boss." Kristen looks at him with a glare at him calling me boss. She looks down at the paper and notices my picture on the front page with the headline 'Natalia Anderson- The New Face of Anderson Records and Co.' with wide eyes.

"How is this possible? No one ever said that Darius Anderson had a daughter," Kristen says through gritted teeth. Adam walks into the room just as she says this and notices Kristen here.

"Kristen? What are you doing here? You're supposed to be working on the meet and greet for Gianna after her show in two weeks," Adam asks her in confusion.

I look at him with a smirk as I lean against the frame of my doorway. "She was here to try to engage in inappropriate relations with my brother who is married. After she saw me here, she proceeded to insult me as well as threatened to have me kicked out of my own company," I tell him in amusement.

Adam looks at Kristen with a disapproving look. Looking at me, he asks "What would you like to do boss?"

"She needs to pack up her desk and leave the premises. Let HR know there is a new position open in your department. Have her put on the list and don't leave out any of her indiscretions," I tell him as I turn to go back in my office to finish what I was doing. I don't make it one step before a hand stops me, holding my arm tightly. Turning, the hand belongs to Kristen who looks like she wants to murder me.

"You can't do that! I have worked for this company for years and most of your clients are here for me. If you fire me, they will leave with me," Kristen threatens. I glance at Adam then back to the ignorant woman who has a hold on my arm.

"You have three seconds to let go of my arm," I tell her with a look that the boys on alert. They may not be members of my team but we have been training them to join.

"No, not until you take it back that you fired me. Now," Kristen demands.

I give her the three seconds before I grab her arm and twist it around her back, making her let go of my arm. Adam calls for security as I take her to the wall and shove her against it. "I gave you a warning to let go and now look what you made me do. As of two minutes ago, you were fired so don't try to contact Labor Relations. You are no longer an employee and are trespassing as well as just threatened me. Don't get to comfortable after you leave here because you will be hearing from the company lawyers," I tell her as security comes in. Keeping my hold on her, I pull her to the door where they are standing with shocked expressions. "Take Miss Kristen to the lobby and throw her out. Make sure that she leaves the premises and doesn't return."

They nod in acknowledgment before dragging a screaming Kristen down the hall to the elevator. Employees come out of their offices to see what the commotion is about as they watch her be dragged from my office.

"Everett, schedule a meeting in two hours. Everyone is to report to the banquet hall and it will be mandatory to attend. If anyone is not present, they will be on probation or fired," I tell him before addressing the employees in front of me. "Everyone go back to work. We will be having a meeting in a few hours that everyone is required to attend."

I go back in my office and eat my lunch. Two hours go by fast and it's time to make our way to the banquet hall on the first floor for the meeting. My brothers meet Everett and I at the elevator as well as Adam. We all chat as the elevator descends to the first floor.

Walking into the banquet hall, I see it full of employees that are all trying to get a look at our group. Getting to the front of the room, I step up to stand behind the podium.

"Good afternoon everyone. I want to take this time to formally introduce myself to you all. You may already know me from all of the papers and news stations that have been reporting on the event the company held on Friday. My name is Natalia Anderson and I am the daughter of Darius Anderson. My father has officially retired and handed the company to me. With the help of my brothers and all of you, we will make this company be successful as we move forward on this new path for the company." Everyone claps and cheers as I pause to move to the next topic. "A few hours ago, an employee was removed from the property. The employees on the executive floor witnessed her being removed and I wanted to address some matters. From here on forward, no one will threaten or talk to me the way she did. She not only insulted me but was inappropriate in her behavior. This is all that I can tell you on the matter but I want this to serve as a warning. If you respect me then you will receive it in return. I promise today that I will earn your respect. That will be all, you may go back to your work. Thank you."

As I am stepping back from the podium, I see Uncle Frank in the back standing by someone who looks familiar. My heart speeds up when I notice that It is Christopher.
