Chapter 73: Mother-In-Law meets Daughter-In-Law [Part 3]

After my little spar with Igris, I took a bath and changed into fresh clothes just in time as I sensed Mom and Ultima return. I couldn't help but feel a little nervous about what they may have discussed while they were out.

My mother, the Vampire Queen, and Ultima, the Purple Primordial, what could go wrong? That's without talking about the White Primordial maid with them...

As I made my way down to the dining room, I tried to shake off my worries and focus on the task at hand. I had ordered my shadows to prepare a meal for us, and I knew it would be best to make sure everything was in order before they arrived.

Walking into the dining room, I was pleased to see that everything was as I had instructed. The table was set, the food was hot and ready, and everything looked perfect.

Not like anyone of us actually needed to eat in the first place but that besides the point.

Taking a deep breath, I sat down at the table and waited for my mother and Ultima to arrive. As I waited, my mind began to wander, and I couldn't help but think about what sort of trouble awaited me.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway. My heart began to race as I braced myself for whatever was about to come my way. As they entered the room, I tried to keep a calm and collected demeanor, but I could feel my anxiety creeping up on me.

"Hello, my dear," my mother said, smiling warmly at me. "How was your day?"

"It was fine," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. While also noted to me that it seemed like Ultima got my Mom's approval

"And how was your little spar with Igris?" Ultima asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It was...interesting," I said, assuming she asked one of the shadows about it, "But how was your day?"

"Oh, nothing special we talked for a while, and I can't wait to see my grandchildren soon," my mother said, a hint of excitement in her voice.

I smiled wryly and slowly relaxed and enjoyed the meal with my mother and Ultima. It wasn't exactly the sort of news I had expected after their little shopping trip, but I wasn't complaining.

"Ultima told me about you visiting the slime that made a city of monsters in the Jura Forest." Mom said.

Putting down my glass of wine, I said, "He is interesting. Naming thousands of monsters and growing much stronger in a short amount of time, and even becoming friends with Milim."

"Yes, and he appeared after the lizard disappeared," Mom said with a tick mark at the mention of Veldora.

"Well, he is calmer than Veldora, and his goal is to make peace between monsters and humans."

"For a slime, he sure has big dreams," Mom said.

"From what I know, he was a Human before reincarnating as a slime, and he grows really fast," I paused to see Mom's reaction, "When I first saw him, he was an A-Rank monster, and just a few days ago his strength reached S-Rank."

Mom looked at me with interest, "S-Class? How strong would you say he is?" She asked.

I hummed thinking about it, "Strenght wise, he is at the level of Frey, but from what I've seen from him, I would say he could win against Roy and Louis." That would be due to Rimuru's Unique Skills.

"Maybe I should go and see the slime myself," Mom said, swirling around the wine in her glass.

As she said, I had a bad feeling thinking that something bad would happen.

---

I was in my office with Mom, who had glasses on for some reason. She wanted to talk to me after the dinner.

"Now that you are in a relationship, there are things you should know." She said. I listened, thinking she would say something important, "We should now talk about the bird and bees."

"..." I noticed she was completely serious, "Mom, I'm over 300 years old..."

"I may have forgotten to talk to you about it before, but it's never too late."

I put a hand over my face, "Urgg... Mom, please stop... As I said, I'm over 300 years old and don't want to have this conversation with you."

"Fine... But remember, I want grandchildren, especially girls, because boys always cause trouble. Ultima and I have already talked about it,"

I didn't know what to say, but the image of my Mom and Ultima having the talk was funny, "I'm only 322 years old, and I will live for a lot longer, so I'm not in a hurry to have kids."

"But I want grandchildren..."

That's not your call to make...

---

After the talk, I want to forget I went to find Ultima and ask her about our new maid. Normally I wouldn't care if she brought a maid, but it's a different story if the maid is a Primordial Demon.

Sitting in front of Ultima and Blanc, the White Primordial standing behind her like a professional maid, I asked, "So what's all of this about?"

"We've been talking about getting more maids, and I found one," Ultima said innocently, as if she didn't understand what I was talking about.

"Yeah, I remember that, but I was thinking about one of my shadows, not the White Primordial," I said and saw their reactions. Ultima had, as expected of me, look while Blanc had a look of interest.
