Reality of Eternal Night

As soon as his train came out of the station tunnel, he realised that something fishy was there. He peeped out from window and he was surprised to see that it was night only.

He thought he might be dreaming or else he is still in tunnel only! but he was neither dreaming nor his train was in tunnel.

He asked a man who was sitting next to him

"Why it's so dark outside?"

The man replied in suprise , " What are you talking about?.... it's always dark outside there's nothing special in it."

Henry confused with this asked again, " It's daytime so it must be light outside, isn't it?"

That man astoundingly replied, " What is daytime and nighttime? " " It's always dark and this daytime used to be in ancient times 2500 to 3000 years. As I am a history professor, I can share with you how we lost our daytime.

That history professor started retelling history of that reality

" Long ago when we used to have daytime around 3000 years ago we were doing great scientific and technological advancements and we the people of Earth were very advanced at that time but we were all lost in technologies at that for further 250 years of history we we lived in a great age of scientific advancement (Golden Age) . But after that golden age civilization saw a downfall, our advancements in technologies and machinery have deteriorated environment of our planet so badly that ozone layer started depleting and we were prone to solar radiations. For next hundred years we were trying to restore this ecological damage but nothing happened

and we were heavily tensed.

Then comes the deadliest evening in the history of mankind that evening a huge solar storm strike the planet and we have damaged our planets magnetic field till then. And that solar storm caused a huge fire in the forests of Siberia and polar ice melt causing great tsunami which we survived by the God 's grace. The fire emitted various heavy gases in our atmosphere which formed a thick layer about a kilometre as per recent data and for next thousand years no rain occurred and remaining mankind used to live in mass flood bunkers which saved them and very limited food was there to eat. After those thousand years of blackout first rain occured but that layer of gas was still there we were covered in eternal night from then onwards and for next thousand years there was a age of Restoration in which we restored our lost history about 60% and population remained a quarter from Golden Age to now absurdly."

" You would have studied in history books about this. I have reached my station so I have to go. I will meet you again in this metro."

He also reached his office which was next station and he went into office trying to adjust with new reality and exploring this new reality to find way back home.

He encountered Sarah but this time she was knowing him. Henry greeted her and asked," Hi Sarah, how are you doing today?"

Sarah replied, " I am good. What about you?"

and she chuckled.

Henry confused and said," I am fine. Why what happened? What made you chuckle?"

Sarah replied, " Have you worn off with your last night's hangover?"

Henry confused and said," Yes but I don't remember "

Sarah replied, " O my innocent friend, it's not your fault let it be. "

Henry and Sarah both went to their desks and started working. Henry was mesmerized with the fact that artificial lights light up here's sky. He went home after his work and as usual he took shower to refresh his mind. After that he devoured at his favourite foods that is pizza and had a drink.

He went to sleep to ponder over how to explore, adapt this new reality and return to his original where he used to live.

He got a dream that night that his bed was inverted and sky was below and ground was above.

But next morning something amazing was there awaiting him.

[The sun never rose in this reality. The world remained in perpetual darkness, lit only by artificial lights. Henry struggled to adapt to a life where daytime was a distant memory.]
