It's a Floater!

Clang! Ker-THUD!

"Damn it!" Ayse shouted.

The ship teetered slightly as Ayse turned off the electric burner. While LaRee rolled out of bed, surprised, Ayse was already on the first step of the stairs.

"Grab your bow!" Ayse shouted, storming up the steps without delay.

LaRee quickly followed with a bow in hand and a quiver at his hip. He was about to ask what was attacking the ship. However, the moment LaRee's head rose above the wheelhouse floor, LaRee could see a monstrously-large creature through the wheelhouse windows.

"Giant devilfish?!" LaRee yelled in question.

The wheelhouse door banged against the wall, left open as Ayse sprinted straight for the tentacular beast wrapped around the side of the ship.

Frrrip-rip! EEeeEeee!

Ayse's two knives slashed through the tentacle reaching for the wheelhouse door. And the beast cried in a barely audible, high-pitched screech.
