Deal for a Dusthead Bum

Without breaking eye contact with the bum, Ayse retrieved one of his knives and the stolen debit card. And the card was shredded in a second.

Ayse only looked away to find a nearby trash can and toss the plastic scraps. "You know, I didn't realize how tired I was until after walking around town. Know any good motels, Toad?"

"Of course!" Harold snickered and snapped back to his default, snarky self. "Are y'all gonna take a nap?"

"I think we'll call it a day. We should make up for our lost sleep in dymension," Ayse stated, also resuming his unperturbed demeanor.

"But this early? Y'all won't check out the nightlife? Or maybe the night market?" Harold insisted. "Some of the best deals only appear when the rest of the world sleeps."

But Ayse wasn't having it. "Nah, sleep sounds better."

Harold didn't complain or push further. But his feet sped up again to reach the destination as soon as possible.
