Leaving Ludok

… Br-r-ring. Br-r-ring–

Ayse reflexively slapped his buzzing watch. Once the ringer stopped, Ayse stretched both arms and sat up.

"Not bad for a long nap." His feet hit the floor the next second. The boots by the bedside were dragged out and put on. Ayse glanced at the other, empty beds, slightly laughing. "At least one of us slept well."

The patches on his sides were pulled off, exposing the freshly healed skin. It was tender to the touch. Those spots were extra sensitive. But they were indeed healed, and ready to be uncovered.

Ayse binned the patches and went upstairs to find the mild mess on the deck.

The stoves and tiny table were still out, splattered with elderberry sauce and a hint of booze. A somewhat gamey scent wafted through the air as well, from the multiple rounds of venison Baloo had cooked throughout the night.
