The Interrogation Begins

"... Uhhhhhh…"

A pounding headache, suddenly dissipating… Eyes opening, vision gradually getting less blurry…

"W… Where… am I?"

K-thump.

The unexpected slam of a locking door alerted the waking man. But he couldn't turn his head toward the approaching footsteps.

Everything was grey. They looked like dull metal walls. But it was hard to tell as there were no shadows or corners in sight. There wasn't any furniture either. And though there were no shadows to be seen, the lighting of the chamber wasn't warm by any means.

"So, you've finally come to?"

That voice was unfamiliar to the stiff, startled man. Yet, it stuck out in his mind. It felt like he had dozed off in the middle of a conversation with this stranger, despite struggling to remember anything in recent memory.

"... Still want to keep silent? Don't want to try striking a deal after getting caught so easily?"

"I-I didn't do it! I didn't do anything!"
