When life began with a bang several worlds were created from this, each with their own kind of life and ecosystem, our world was not one of these worlds created from the big bang instead our world existed long before the big bang but became mutated by the cosmic energy for ever changed with people having strange and unusual powers. Our people spent more time on these new found powers and very little on technology instead the understanding of technology became a lost art and our world relied more on people's powers for everything and our strange beast for transportation.
I wake up to the sound of rain pelting my window, I slowly sit up, stretch and rub my eyes. I push the covers away and walk over to the window and quickly pull the curtains back to see it's raining hard outside. As I gaze down at the town I see the people carrying on with their day not letting the rain slow them down and the rain hitting the tile roofs and running off the roof hitting the old bricks on the road, I hear someone knocking at the door.
"Princess may I enter" says one of the maids
"Yes Mary, you can come in" I said, the big door slowly swings open to a young woman in a black maids uniform which enhances the woman's white skin, long blond hair, and beautiful teal colored eyes. She walks up to me then kneels before me which I hate.
"Did you sleep well princess?" Mary asks me
"Yes and has there been any change to today's schedule" I ask
"There has been a delay because of the rain but that's about it" Mary said " the rain should clear up by this afternoon and your father's, the king's birthday celebration it will be a smash, as usual, is my princess ready for breakfast?"
"good and yes I'm ready for breakfast the bacon started to smell good" I said as I started to head down stairs. A princess I may be but I'm still a person who hates the formality that comes with being a princess. I gaze out the tall windows that line the hallways of the castle. The fancy long rugs and expensive decor are honestly dull and tasteless but my father never really liked anything that didn't shine. My father, the king, is a simple man but the most supportive, always willing to believe in anyone and give them a second chance. King Ryan, my father, is a very loved king in the kingdom of Falsworth.
I reach the dining hall and quickly see father and the royal advisor or as I like to call him a pain. The royal advisor he may be doesn't mean we all have to live by his no fun rule and because of that we don't get along.
"Oh the royal princess finally joins us. It was so quiet outside I thought it was someone else coming to the dining hall " Jacob the pain said bluntly.
"Mhm oh you're here Jacob forgive me it was hard to see you with your dull personality" I said.
"At least I don't leave destruction and mayhem wherever I go," Jacob said.
"For the last time the stampede was not my fault, let alone that they would have jumped the wall and come straight into the palace. But still better than having a fun time watching paint dry on the wall." I shot back.
"And I told you I thought I saw a crack in the wall you tomboy princess" Jacob said.
"Whatever you pain in the-"
"Ok ok you two let's eat first then you can tear into each other when we're done" my father cut me off before I could finish. Both me and Jacob quietly sit down and eat knowing that someone is bound to come through the door requiring help with something.
Knock knock knock
"Yes, what is it Liam?" Father asked. Standing in the doorway was another one of my father's royal advisors. Liam quickly kneeled bowing his head, his short messy ash colored hair shifting as he did. He's wearing a dark blue butler's outfit lined with gold buttons and stitches, armed with a standard sword, his outfit looks great on him it really matches his amber eyes.
"Your Majesty, some of the Lords and Ladies have arrived early, they and their guards are quarreling in the main hall as we speak, your Majesty's present is required to settle the fighting" Lain smoothly said in a calm tone.
"Very well, at least I got to eat first, if you excuse me." With that my father got up and left the dining hall.
After me and Jacob finished eating we quietly left the dining hall but gave each other menacing glares. I quickly went back to my room to change clothes to go out into the town. I may be royalty but I still enjoy walking amongst the people and chatting with the common folk. Swiftly put on a pair of black pants, small black socks, and decorative black boots with gold roses on the side. Next I put on a see through long sleeved black shirt with a small purple crop top over it. Then I fasten my custom sword around my waist and a small pouch that sits against my back. I walk over and stand in front of the mirror to check my appearance. Even without the advancements of the ancient art technology, our ancestors still found a way to enhance our way of life . Women no longer have to wear long , lengthy gowns and dresses everywhere we go thank goodness cuz last time I wore went to a party I tripped and fell in the town square. I stand there gazing at my long black silky hair and my gold and ocean blue eyes. My father says my looks come from my mother, my mother who betrayed my father, tried to steal thousands in valuables, and threatened innocent people. According to my father, despite her evil ways she was one of the prettiest women he's ever laid eyes on but apparently I may have gotten her looks but I got my father's warm and caring heart. I snap out of my daydreaming and grab a standard head scarf, like one of the maids wears when they go out shopping, and wrap it around my head tucking two ends underneath my hair. Our country is large but our capital and most the other cities are fairly small so most of the people around the capital already know me and my standard gallivanting around the city on my own but since it's a special occasion most of the neighboring Lords and Ladies of the land have gathered together to celebrate the king's great birthday. So there's a larger than normal influx of visitors. The last thing I want is to stand out too much in such a large crowd. I quickly walked down the long hallways and winding staircases and walked out into the town past Castle Gates. As I'm crossing the stone bridge over the castle's moat I can't help but gaze upon the townhouses around the castle and one of the many town squares. Some buildings are made out of tan bricks with reddish orange tile roofing while other buildings are light gray brick buildings with metal roofing. You really get to take in our city's rich history. Some of the tan buildings have been around for almost three decades now. Thousands of years ago our world existed before a big explosion of cosmic energy. Our world was exposed to a large amount of it and thanks to that all the inhabitants, people and beast alike have mutated and gained special and magical abilities. By using magical energy when the construction workers are building the buildings they can stand longer and can withstand almost anything unlike the buildings of the old days. Slowly strolling towards the town square seeing all the happy faces, beautiful buildings, and great weather, since the rain passed, makes me feel lucky. I say hi to Susie who runs the general store, I stopped by Pete's bakery for some of Joseph's delicious baked goods, I swing by the blacksmith shop to see how things are going, I visit the sick people in the town's hospital and bring them some of Joseph's baked goods, and lastly I visited the orphanage and bring all the orphans toys from Susie's general store and play with them for a few hours. Thanks to magic, which now everyone and everything can use, people long ago invented an item bag which now can hold anything and everything in it so bringing a lot of toys and baked goods to sick folk and orphans is a breeze. I take a quick break at a different town square and grab a hot dog from one of the local vendors there. As I sit there and eat my hot dog, I can't help but enjoy the hustle and bustle of the capitol, all of the happy and bright smiling faces, it brings me joy to see my people so happy. There is nothing that me and my family wouldn't do for our kingdom's people and on the other hand there is nothing that the kingdom's people would do for our family. My father the king taught my three brothers and me how to be the best rulers that we could possibly be so that way regardless of which of the four of us would inherit his crown he feels confident enough that the kingdom will be in good hands regardless of who shall inherit the throne. He is most definitely a kind King and a wonderful father. But despite his kind of meaner when he was younger he suffered many losses, the loss of both his parents and the betrayal of his older brother. But despite that it's never stopped him from being a kind and gracious King. Everything I see around me is because of his kindness. The happiness on everyone's face, little kids being able to play out in the street, and many other people who are parked on a bench in the town square like I am enjoying a snack.
As I finish my hot dog on a bench I look over and see Alexandria upon a wobbly ladder trying to put a flower pot on her shop's window seal. Alexandria quickly loses balance and Falls towards the ground. I activate my spell speed boost and rush in to catch her in time.
"Ahh, oh my word, Amethyst it's you. Oh thank goodness you saved me from a nasty fall. I suppose you were going to stop by and view the pretty flowers again." Alexandria said.
"I can't help it, a whiff of your gorgeous flowers is always a good reason for me to come out here even in a crowd like this" I say " but I can't stay long. I'm busy today and we'll have to go back to the Palace soon" I said.
"Understandable, well take care and thank you for saving me" Alexandria said as I started to walk away. I already have fathers gift and my three older brothers are, as usual, out getting their gifts right now. The 3 of them choosing a gift is always a site to see. I headed back towards the palace grounds enjoying the time to myself when I started feeling uneasy about something but quickly pushed it out of my head. I needed to get back to help with setting everything up. As I walk back I can't help but enjoy seeing the bright smiling faces on my people. Years ago after the heroes sealed away the demon King, many monsters roamed about, monsters became demonized during the demon King's reign. Demonized monsters being much stronger and much more ferocious than normal monsters had affected our ancestors for generations. But now years later demonized monsters are no longer a problem so our people in all the kingdoms can live peacefully. In fact it was only 12 years ago when the last demonized monster was slain by a group of adventurers. It's thanks to them that no one has suffered the mayhem and destruction from his demonized monster. Entire kingdoms were practically destroyed by demonized monsters but our ancestors put their heads together and figured out how to kill one of them. The people of today can now enjoy a happy and healthy lifestyle without worrying about a demonized monster attack. All the kingdoms have special magic spells to keep out normal monsters regardless of what they may be but a demonized monster does not feel this magic spell nor does the spell affect the demonized monster anyway. Thank goodness we don't have to suffer another demonized monster attack. As the castle Gates comes to view I start thinking about how to decorate the garden area for my father's birthday event.
