As Xia Xi Wan entered her chamber, she was welcomed by a white fluffy ball, making her laugh genuinely once again. 


"Xia Xue, do you miss me like I missed you?" Xia Xi Wan inquired as she bent down to hold the fluffy ball in her hands. 


"Xia Xue, express your love and longing for me properly," said Xia Xi Wan in a teasing voice. Looking at the creature that looked as if it was a ball of snow with its small figure and long snow white hair, she added, "You are the only man I love and care for. Although my love for you is sincere, I don't feel like you are sincere enough to me these days."


After barking, Xia Xue began licking and sniffing her to express his sincere love and yearning. It was the only one who could touch her without making her faint or nauseous. It had to be because Xia Xue had conveyed his sincerity and loyalty to her time and time again. Although it looked quite delicate and beautiful, she had to say that it was the biggest hoax as the dog was more ferocious than those bigger and eerie looking ones. 


For example, it bit a noblewoman so hard once that she had to spend two months in bed. It wasn't that Xia Xue had a tendency to hurt or bite people, it was only when someone dared to look at his mistress with a malicious intention. If that woman wasn't trying to drag Xia Xi Wan into a party of men, it wouldn't have bitten that damned woman. It wasn't its fault at all as everyone knew she was its bottom line. 


She was lying on the bed while Xia Xue was jumping around her, attempting to amuse her when the door to her room was pushed open and in ran Lu Shi and Lu Xin with horrified expressions. 


"What happened? Why do you look as if you just had a meeting with a grim reaper?" Xia Xi Wan was in the mood to joke with her two maids but when she noticed how their faces paled after hearing her words, she mentally sighed. 


"Young Miss, an envoy from the Imperial Palace had come to announce an imperial edict, " Lu Xin whispered. Her earlier naivety and carelessness had long disappeared. In fact, Xia Xi Wan could see tears brimming in the young maid's eyes. 


"Am I going to be sentenced or given capital punishment?" Xia Xia Wan questioned, half-jokingly. She wouldn't be surprised if one day she was taken away by the law and order officers, given her deeds. 


"Young Miss!!" Both Lu Xin and Lu Shi cried at the same time. 


"Alright, tell me what do you find out?" Xia Xi Wan asked as she sat on the bed and glanced at the two of them while caressing Xia Xue's soft hair. 


"Young Miss, the emperor had bestowed your wedding with Jun Wang!" It was Lu Shi who announced the matter. 


After Xia Xi Wan had left the capital to pay respect to her late mother three days ago, an imperial edict from the Emperor had arrived at Xia manor the next day announcing her marriage to Jun Wang, his third son.
