Crazed human

The air suddenly reeked of something bad but it was hard to pinpoint what it is. And Louis was only a very average vampire; his sense of smell and sight were pretty average.

But he could see the man fairly in the darkness. For a fleeting moment, his eyes lowered to the rubber boots that Norman wore, but he could not find anything unusual about them from where he sat in the dark, almost empty house.

"Who is there?" The voice boomed in anger.

Louis sighed. "Why don't you turn on a lantern for a start? I couldn't find any—"

"No lantern. No lights." Norman said immediately. "State your business and leave; I don't have time for games." As he said this, his hands stealthily reached for a knife on his table.

"Fine. I need your help with a case, just like the last time." Louis informed him.

"So you are that councilman."

Louis ignored his statement. "Does the name Edward Turner ring a bell?"
