Back to The Battlefield Part IV

“It’s you that drains me before the real fight. Let me tell you this. I’ve been fighting enemies stronger than me my whole life. It’s not like I haven’t fought an invincible before. I was kicked in the gut every day when I was younger by one.”

Hearing that, Baron turned the other way and smiled secretly. The boy did not seem to know that the invincible he was talking about was standing right in front of him!

“That’s good to know,” Baron said. “Thinking that you’re a challenger makes you feel less pressured. Going out there without a way to win is suicidal. I won’t let you do that, understood?”

The man tilted his head, wondering what she was implying.

“Don’t make that confused face. I just want to say that this is going to be your last lesson, boy.” She smiled. “I’ve taught you everything, be it the Signetic control, the vision, the movements, and, above all, you’ve gained so many levels that’ll make you one of the most fearful monsters in Pride.”
