There is nothing to make up for

Chen Jie frowned. "We have medical staff for that. You're almost three months pregnant, Meimei. I don't think that's a good idea at all."

Liu Yanmei furrowed her brows, as if considering his words.

Chen Jie added, "Even Chen Lin didn't volunteer to take care of him, and she could have. She knows there are people for that."

Chen Lin let out a short, humorless laugh.

She hadn't even said a word, yet somehow, she was dragged into this.

Now she was the uncaring granddaughter who didn't step up.

Liu Yanmei, unfazed, continued as if she hadn't heard. "Even though I'm nearly three months along, I'm not that fragile yet. I can still take care of him."

Chen Lin couldn't stop herself. "That's funny. Just now, you mentioned your doctor said you should be cautious because 'anything could happen.'"

Her voice dripped with sarcasm as she rested her chin on her palm. "But now, all of a sudden, you're perfectly fine to take care of Grandpa?"
