To The Republic For Which It Stands

As the Ghost undergoes a weeks worth surgery to repair the barb wound, Daniel looks out the Oval Office window. This was their country, a country in trouble. Most of their population had been wiped out, thanks to the endless wars, they had unknowingly become a part of. However, hope was like the sun rising over the horizon, change was coming, and America would get her second wind. He had ordered Liberty Bell and their forces to begin repairing Washington D.C, keep hostiles out, and invite newcomers to the city.

The bombs had made most water sources undrinkable, but thanks to their lab rats, and a series of testing, they had a way to purify water again. However, the increasingly noticeable raider presence had become a problem. With their people spread thin, something drastic had to be done.

"Adams, I'd like to take a walk."

"On your move sir."

On his walk, they encountered a band of raiders.

"Oye, take a look."

"Vice Commander Light of the fucking USA." said one was he and the others stepped in front of Daniel's path. "Let's gut this fucking patriot, after all, can't be a vice commander of a dead country now, can he?"

However, Daniel had other plans. With a swift motion he broke their arms and disarmed them. "America is far from dead, and don't you worry, once the Ghost gets back, he'll be sure to remind you of that."

Daniel walked past them turning his attention to a band of refugees who had made their way toward the scuffle. He motioned for them to come over, and he gave them water. "Where are you all coming from?" he asked as they drank. "Tokyo, things have gotten bad." Daniel raised an eyebrow. "How bad?" The older man looked at him, "Europe isn't dead, neo-new worlders have begun to attack, raid, destroy and enslave us."

"Then you came to right place. While the Ghost is out, we pledge help to our Japanese allies, you all have a place here." The refugees smiled happy with Daniel's statement, but Daniel didn't smile, rather he kept the expression of someone waiting on something. He turned and led the refugees back to the safer parts of Washington D.C. Looking around, the Japanese refugees saw the Remnants of America, the soldiers guarding the settlement, although their country had fallen apart, it was their faith in Daniel, and the Ghost, that was keeping the American Dream on life support.
