Slow and Deadly Death

As the group split up, everyone tried to get away. Skattlkin tore into people leaving hardly any room to run.

"How the hell  did they get past out defenses!?" shouted Daniel

Nobody answered him, they were too busy unloading fire at the attacking Skattlkin. The Protector and Liberty Bell had retreated from the battlefield, and everyone else had the bright idea to begin running away. Juno and Daniel escaped with many of the civilians south-bound, whiles the others went northwards.

"This reminds me of that one zombie tv show."  said Daniel they speed down the freeway.

"Which one? There are too many to keep straight." said Juno as she checked the other passengers.

"I'd say the walking dead, but this is more like world war z, these bastards aren't even dead, and they will fling themselves at you if they see you as a threat. It was good that Protector got Liberty Bell away from this chaos."

"Agreed, now all we gotta go is meet up. Head for Barbara's farm, let's make sure we put distance between the horde and us." replied Juno

Most of Fortress Americana had split up, heading in all directions. As Juno and Daniel drive along, miles and hours seem to blend together as the Humvee convoy rolls away from the fallen bunker.

Meanwhile, the Protector and Liberty Bell flew across the land, heading back to Ottawa, the place where it all began.

"Liberty Bell, see if we can't locate anyone else heading this way."

"Affirmative. Initiating IFF scan. The nearest group of friendlies are 106 miles behind us."

The Protector flew along, his mind wandered as he and the giant automaton flew over the Skattlkin controlled country. From what he'd gathered, the entire world was facing this threat. Radio reports and word of mouth had trickled in from Europe that the Skattlkin had overrun the entire hemisphere and been seen adrift at sea as well.

With this new threat, it was forever change how the crew would adapt and live.
