Battle For A Stronghold (3)

After a brutally long conflict Snow emerged victorious against the combined force of both Nomadic Tribe and Guild Of Thunder who in total last 2/3 of their original numbers while Snow only lost 100,000 players.

After a few cheers and roars of celebration they piled up the loot which was given to the officers for it to be distributed properly to the guild and to the players.

While Snow still had 400,000 players, Frozen Fire and Fallen Moon's army went down to 460,000 players while their enemy which was a small army of 15,000 NPC's only lost 3,200 fighters, it was clear that if both guilds kept on fighting this small army of NPC's then it was clear who would emerge victorious.

Kane together with ten of his strongest fighters were battling Davie, the battle was a stalemate even though they outnumbered Davie 11 to 1. The level gap and skill gap was obvious, Davie was a much more experienced fighter than any of them even with his young age.

"How about we just stop this, I know your objective, you want to claim the stronghold for you and your group yet there's only thirty minutes left before the stronghold's seal will break which means you won't have enough time to wipe us and claim the stronghold, plus there are more people up there... more than us so how about we just stop this. I'm willing to command my men to retreat." Kane had beads of sweat dripping from his head while he was saying this, he had hoped that Davie would agree to his proposal because he didn't want to lose more players in this futile fight. After all his end goal was to annihilate Snow and claim the stronghold for his guild.

Davie on the otherhand was ordered to claim this stronghold at all costs and knew that he was limited in time even when the battle was entirely in his favour and he could have continued but time was ticking. Therefore Davie nodded and looked at his men, both commanders had commanded their armies to stop the fight and retreat. Davie didn't bother to take the loot since he was low on time and Kane was too scared to even grab a single item since Davie was still in the vicinity.

But what did Zoom do? Of course he didn't just watch as these two armies parted ways, he took the opportunity to run through the bloodied battlefield activating his loot aura. Kane's eyes were bloodshot from what he saw, he almost chocked on air and if only Davie was further away then he would no doubt ran towards this thief who was Zoom.

Kane looked at the cloaked man who was stealing all his loot with contempt. Zoom didn't stay for long though since he didn't want to taste Kane's wrath, Zoom had been farming a dungeon solo for the past 5 days but in the end it was only a level 1, 20 man dungeon. Zoom could have went to a higher levelled dungeon yet he had a purpose on why he stayed in the Wind dungeon. One of those reasons was that he was farming golem hearts and at the same time hoped to get another bone staff.

After the two groups parted, Davie and his small army started rushing up the mountain while Kane and his army went to another side of the mountain to avoid Davie's detection and started climbing up. Kane's plan was to use Davie's army to whittle out Snow's strength and ultimately third party the situation and claim the stronghold.

Up in the mountain.

"War general! A group of NPC's were spotted fighting Fallen Moon and Frozen Fire's combined armies and it was reported that the two guilds were on the losing end therefore they asked for mercy and the NPC's agreed, now the NPC's are coming our way and they should arrive in a few minutes from now."

"General the scouts think that war general Kane wants to third party our fight with the NPC's."

Flake wanted to capture this stronghold so badly so she can impress Winter but she knew that the smartest thing she could do is retreat since she didn't want to face the NPC army when Kane was nearby ready to pounce at any opportunity. It was a futile fight that would only benefit Kane. Thinking of that man's name made Flake's mood turn sour.

Flake then order for her army to retreat and not fight the NPC's that are coming their way.

On the other side of the mountain Kane and his army was half way up the mountain when he received the intel that Snow is retreating which made his brows furrow. There was less than twenty minutes left before the stronghold's seal would break. He ordered one of his players to meet Flake and ask her to fight the NPC army together with Fallen Moon and Frozen Fire.

In a few minutes Flake had received Kane's request of cooperation, she wanted to reject any cooperation immediately but she knew the value of a stronghold. She bit her tongue and agreed, it was a risky endeavour but the prize was too enticing to not do something risky.

"Are you sure about this decision miss Flake?" Roneal who was there stood from his seat and politely bowed slightly before asking.

"It's a gamble I'm going to take." Flake was adamant with her decision.

"Aren't you afraid that they might stab us in the back, sabotage our forces in the middle of the fight?"

"I'll stab them back before he can stab me, but we can't stab each other too early because if we do the NPC's will take the opportunity to wipe both of us out."

When Davie and his army were already prepared for conbat when they saw that Snow was retreating a smirk appeared on his face as he said in a low tone, "Smart move immortals."

Davie commanded his army to camp near the stronghold and to rest for the time being, they would need every strength and energy to repel the so called immortals if they banded together. Davie's heart was pounding at the thought of an alliance between the two immortal armies.

It was a gamble to trust Kane but Flake decided to risk it, she would make sure to have scouts giving her intel every moment that passes. The moment Kane did something to sabotage Snow then she would immediately full engage Kane's army while at the same time kiting backwards letting the NPC's focus on Kane.

Both armies were at the edges of the wide plain, it was very far in the distance but with Davie's enhanced sight he could clearly see the full force of both armies. His heart was racing with fear and excitement, losing this stronghold would be detrimental to his career inside his guild, excitement due to seeing that he was outnumbered 1 to 80. This was going to be a long battle and a bloody one.

"This fight decides everything."
