Astral's Rise Part 28: Mirror Match

Grabbing the handle of his Murasama, Mimic would shiver as he shattered the shield. The shrapnel going everywhere as Astral launches a slice at Mimic's temple. Mimic would push the blade back as he would be on his back foot. Summoning the shadow blade to counter Murasama.

Mimic sent a horizontal slash with the shadow blade as Astral blocked it with a quick light spell. It went right through and shredded the surface layer of his chest, Astral reeled back, this is what a void attack felt like. It was full of agony and pain.

Mimic wanted to hold the advantage for as long as possible before Astral fully remembered his abilities. Sending another slash at him diagonally down from Astral's left side. All that was seen was a flash of light. Lone's claymore was held in position to have the shadow blade slide right off.

Astral thrusted it forward to throw off Mimic as he let it stab him. He tried to crawl up through the blade as Astral repulsed it with what little happiness he could feel. Astral had the claymore glowing bright white. He did not know if it could hold up for long but needed to make it count.

Astral sliced off Mimic's arm with a feint attack from Murasama. Mimic lashed out with a wave of tendrils as they were hacked down by the white hot claymore. Astral Sliced off the other arm with the claymore as a white ring sealed around the wound, no black vapor leaking from it.

Mimic looked at his missing arm and dark wings sprouted from his back, resembling Astral's Paws, they would launch volleys of attacks at Astral. He blocked each one with one arm. Using the Murasama as he slashed off Mimic's head and the paws apart.

Falling into vapor it would be used as a smokescreen for Mimic to fire a kinetic wave of darkness. Astral fanned it away with a spell as when he looked back up there was Mimic, still alive and a giant black pit of doom rapidly approaching.

Astral trusted his ability and his feelings. Looking at it he would hold out his staff and shout. "ILLUMINATE!" A lantern appeared on the staff as it sent a flash of blinding light out. Mimic reeled back in pain as the attack faded. Astral dropped it back into the pocket dimension and looked forward. Slowly approaching Mimic who expanded his size the slightest bit. The white ring is still on his left arm.

Mimic charged at Astral trying to feint him and fake him out. Astral jumped up and over him as thousands of sword slashes from the Murasama cycled through the shadow. The smoke reforming into something else.

The figure of Jaimie stood in front of him as Astral was motionless. In shock that the figure would try and throw him off like this. It worked. Mimic sent a slash straight at Astral on his chest once more. It looked like it connected as the body fell and faded.

Astral stood behind the clone with a fresh hoodie and thick sweatpants. "I do not like the cold anymore." He relished the fact it was cold. He waved his hand from above as snow started to fall. He was trying to cheer himself up. Looking at each unique flake fell Mimic would charge in and launch a punch at Astral.

Thrusting his hand upward Astral summoned a snowman in his place as he fell backward. He was testing the void creature as the snow darkened and fell into ash. The wind slowly started to howl as it picked up. Crystals of ice forming on Mimic's body.

Mimic felt the cold glide off from his body as the crystal's stuck to its joints. It had to snap them free for every punch thrown, every step walked. Astral seemed immune to the cold. His sweatshirt puffy and the glare from his crisp eyes burning down Mimic.

Mimic launched another barrage of attacks as Astral would bat them away with several different ice attacks, ranging from making weapons from ice to throwing snowballs and icicles at the shadow who mirrored him.

All Mimic could do was rely on survival instincts and try to get rolling on a new path to victory. It threw a high kick as Astral turned the floor to ice. Mimic fell to the ground without getting close to Astral.

Astral Held no fear of anything happening to him. He watched the snow fall as Mimic tried to get close. He waved his hands as two ice goliaths took the stage. Both of them slamming their fists onto Mimic who caught the two of them in his hands.

He jumped upwards and smashed the two of them down with the shadow blade. Astral saw the ice crumble to the ground. He let it all fall before freezing it into one solid slab. Astral stood as the environment was all his.

Astral would focus to get this fight done. He wanted no part of this creature as he was still cold. His hoodie puffed up to become more insulated to try and warm him. Astral launched a barrage of swings at the shadow. Each one would be efficiently blocked as the last one. Mimic knew that its time was limited before it would be killed by Astral. Sending a counter kick as it would be cut cleanly off.

The leg becoming smoke Mimic would launch a barrage of punches to distract him for even a second. Astral was having none of it. Slicing the hands of Mimic several times over before slicing Mimic straight down the middle using the claymore looking as white as the snow. And the timer would begin once more as Mimic turned to smoke and faded away. Astral watched it as it wouldn't be the last time he would face something like Mimic. Astral would wander back into his corner as everyone wanted to console him.

He would put up a shield spell and ball himself up. He wanted to shut himself out as he looked down on himself coldly. He knows Mimic is similar to them. Not wanting to spread this to them he would try to meditate in a ball to keep them away. With not a thought in his mind he thought of the shadow he saw in his soul. It wasn't Mimic, but something far worse.
