Subsequent Fall Part 49: Reality of Warfare

It was a cold week for the Dogpound on the surface of the planet as all they did was fight one another even though it had been very well proven that their society was a complete joke and a sham. They kept mindlessly fighting as the nations realized their aging had halted dramatically.

Each kid born didn't become a teen in three years, this shocked all of them as whatever changed in the habitat that is making them age slowly is cursing them to have millions of men die that can no longer be replaced.

"We need a statement for the world to be shown that we should be listened to." Minn looked around at the five of them as their sphere of influence was slowly growing on the planet. But Astral told them they had a week to wrap things up.

"Why such a harsh time limit? He has never done this before." Hawaii looked around at the map of the planet. "Can we even cover through the entire planet in one week?"

"We don't need to, just show them your power in one key battle." Achilles stood there serving as Astral's messenger, his forces were slowly getting ready for combat on the planet.

"How will we do that, also did Astral tell you what was happening?" Nevada asked as Achilles shrugged. The moons around them were slowly building up defenses as Red Merle entered an orbital path around the planet.

"Nope, all he told me was to prepare for combat. If it came from him. Has to be a big deal." Achilles told it as how it was. "My men and women are ready for a fight, they need a warm up match. Send a message to each other faction to meet at this point, they have a common enemy that they should worry about."

As Achilles stood up, Wash worked on sending the message to the rest of the planet as Achilles stopped in the doorway. "Feel free to join me on the frontline when the fighting starts." Achilles walked away as the others nodded, they needed to see more of the high speed combat to stand any chance.

The message was sent and every faction banded together, they all felt like this was a hoax, that even with their combined forces that they could hold off the combined might. Achilles' armies were slightly before the meetup point as he saw the Dogpound walk behind him. "Wanna see how the strong defeat the weak?" They all looked at him disgusted, their reactions hidden under their helmets as they looked away.

The planet's forces were close to five million, all other men were on standby at their second layer or left behind in their country. Achilles whistled as he heard a couple of coos back. More whistles echoed around the area as markers appeared on each of the heavy vehicles that the planet's forces brought along.

Achilles dashed forward as he was the only one visible to all of them. "Have you ever heard of the Greek mythos, fellow men?" They were so confused as they raised their weapons at him. "Which gods to you pray to?"

"Different ones for different subjects!" One of the men shout as their fingers rested on the triggers.

"Where I come from, we have stories of all these different deities and gods, I share a name with one of them." Achilles took off his lenses as his gold and cyan eye shined brightly. "Achilles, the invincible warrior, can only be wounded in the achilles heel." the warriors shivered in place as they were filled with fear.

Explosions rained down around them as three vipers passed by, destroying the heavy armor the planet brought to face Achilles. "Are any of you brave enough to face me?" The men charged forward and opened fire as Achilles dropped a small device, as it fired to life a wall of hard light that would deflect the bullets. His army charged downhill and started gunning down the planets united forces as they fired flares into the air.

"They are calling for all available reinforcements." Wash was in their communication channel thanks to the backdoor Hawaii installed from what feels like forever ago. "What do we do?"

"Reinforce with everything we got! All clone legions. Charge in on the flanks!" Nevada shouted as the armies collapsed downward. The planets forces were confused as the second army came crashing down on them. All that resulted for them was death and devastation as Achilles and the clones wiped through the five million on the frontline as they cleared the wave of reinforcements of twenty five million.

Achilles and the clone army suffered zero losses between the two, between the thirty million men killed for the planet and the others that had previously died in the war, their death toll for the war was well over one billion people as the clones and Achilles' armies swept through each city, making them surrender and join them.

Achilles stood on the battlefield as he put his glasses back on. 'Why does Astral want this done so fast? He sent me to do it with the Vipers, wait. What's this?' Achilles opened up his newest message as it surprised him. Alice sent a video of ships apon ships coming into view from space. "What does it mean?" He then recognized the ship covered in vines, it was Pollen. Why was he back?

"Astral, pick up!" Achilles started calling as much as he could.

"Achilles, just the man I wanted to hear from, get the woman and children off of that planet." Astral told him sharply as Achilles stood in awe.

"Why?"

"We are about to enter our biggest battle ever, no need to jeopardize innocent lives." Astral was soft in his voice. "Thank you for clearing the planet, evacuation ships are being sent down to the planet as we speak."

Achilles became quiet as the click of the phone call was all the proof Astral needed that he understood the assignment. Achilles forwarded a message to all on the planet. 'Evacuation ships are for the natives of the planet, get them there ASAP and clear out. Any men that want to stay behind we will arm.'

The forces spread across the planet were confused at one moment as it clicked for the Dogpound. "We need all women and children to board the ships. This planet is going to become an even bigger warzone than it was!" Nevada was shouting on a microphone as the second message came from Achilles.

'We need to be ready for a force greater than ours to come and attack us here.' Achilles sent the message as the others read the message in chaos. All the women and children on the planet were directed to leave.

"Any men that wish to stay behind we will arm and train!" Nevada shouted again as the evacuation ships echoed the message across the planet. Every man left with their families as the planet was clear of all civilian life.

"Well. That will do it? Now it's time for us to meet our maker or be undone by horrors beyond us?" Minn looked at the last evacuation shuttle as it flew away. The Dogpound stood together as they watched the moons be pulled into orbit to add to the planet's defense, as the Red Merle became the central orbit of it all. The planet and moons orbiting it.
