Subsequent Fall Part 59.3: Jester's Privilege

James and Angel looked at the two men standing in front of them. Completely in awe of what the weird feeling was between the two, they realized they needed to stick together to win this fight. "Diddler, handle the boy." Mu flicked his wrist as Angel went flying down the street as Mu chased after her.

James tried to slash at him as he passed, however a giant scythe jabbed into the ground as it blocked the attack. Diddler was still there and the active threat. He needed to change his game plan as now being half the team. He needed to get creative as he worried more for Angel than himself.

"Back at it from the grave?" James held a spear in his hand similar to Angel's as he smiled. He finally saw the movements from the scythe as they happened. Blocking each one of the giant slashes at him with the spear as Diddler rearranged the cards in the deck.

"Yeah, and this time, the other will die with no chance of coming back due to neglect." Diddler laid the second card down as it was a two of hearts. Starting to rapidly lay these cards down the jester kept James at bay while he was thinking of a way around it, it wasn't giving any stacks either. Transferring what he had into speed he approached Diddler in a flash as all the cards flew upward too late.

The cards flew upwards as all fifty four of them were laid across the ground. "You stand no chance." The cards flew down as Diddler pointed at James. Dodging them to the point of no serious wounds. He needed to ramp up faster if he could stand a chance. Diddler closed the gap as the scythe blade rested on James' side. The only thing stopping it from going through was his claws holding the blade back.

"You think thats all that it'll take is a simple trick or two?" James snickered as two can play at this game. Twisting his body around he balanced himself on the scythe blade as he kicked Diddler in the face. Pushing him back as James rolled backwards from the massive slice from the jester in the background. 'That thing needs to go down before anything else. Then I can deal with him.'

Diddler rushed in with a flurry of slashes from his scythe as James blocked each one with his claws, the spear resting on his back waiting for the moment it was truly needed. Neither was gaining ground as the box slowly condensed around James. 'Its risky to use him here to his fullest, if he dies, I can't use him against Astral' Diddler kept the barrage up as each time James gained an edge, the jester covered the weakness and defended Diddler.

All James was trying to do was figure out patterns by being as basic as possible in order for lull Diddler into a dull pattern to capitalize with something extreme. All he could do for now was block. And with each opening, James hesitated to capitalize in order to see the jesters patterns. Slowly backing himself to the smaller barrier as Diddler kept the offensive attack up.

James had it click for him all at once. The long arms allowed for a fake out and a delay that could be used for an opening. He noticed the patterns and realized Diddler also wasn't going at his maximum potential, almost like he was waiting for something new to click for him. The two saw a light flash in the sky as James' aura started glowing with a brightness unrivaled.

Diddler knew it was time to strike, sweeping at James' legs he slashed open his shins as James slashed open his shoulder. Running along the counter swing of the jester and standing on the blade as this was his opening he waited for. Pulling the spear from his back he rotated in place and fired it into the jester floating above the two of them.

Diddler watched as it happened and realized there was no stopping it. James kept the scythe out of the way by slashing it downwards as the spear slid through the skull of the fully formed jester. The box around the two faded as did the scythe. James jumped from the dissolving blade and to the building, grabbing his spear as he slid down smoothly.

Diddler looked at him as he charged inward, firing several slashes in rabid succession, the slashes intertwining with each other and making it difficult for James to block as he was using the spear. Feeling a slash on his stomach, he dashed away for a second while the ground started to glow.

James slid the spear back onto his back as he hunched over and held his claws up close to his face as Diddler charged in. He wanted to finish this fight now. Each scythe slash had more power in speed as he spun around like a ballerina on his toes, carrying the momentum through each and every attack.

James countered each one with speed of his own, allowing them to scratch him and leak through to add stacks to his ability. Diddler saw this as the speed and power to the strikes needed to increase in power, but he heard his name to be called to go and help the others with Astral. Landing a critical blow on his back as Diddler dashed away.

James stood still as he felt his back. The blood seeped onto his hand as he took a breath and focused on the wound recalibrating himself and waiting patiently. He heard footsteps of someone who he recognized.

Zane looked across the battlefield as their frontline was the only one not to fall to level three. The imperial army all gathered around to one full on push to try and decimate the clones. "DO NOT LET UP, NOT NOW, NOT EVER, FOR OUR BROTHERS!" Zane shouted as he stayed on the frontline, each round from his shotgun that was fired pierced imperial armor as they rolled in heavy vehicles to speed up the attack.

"Artillery batteries, fire on position two two five!" Pete radioed in as shells rang out from behind the clone lines, detonating on the frontal assault of the imperial vehicles. "NICE SHOT BOYS!" Cheers were heard across the front as the imperial army kept the aggressive push going forward. Sal stood next to Zane on the frontline as the two of them focused on other movements around them and how to hold their ground. These clones were fighting tooth and nail despite being outnumbered by so much, there would only be one way they would break.
