Evelin spun her way on the gate of the camp as several of the others looked at her and her armor as they stood confused why someone from the capital was all the way out here again. Errol walked out of the center tent as he stared at Evelin. "What is all the commotion that you caused?"
"I have a letter from the capital with the royal seal." Evelin spun her way down as she pulled her silk back. Walking forwards as she saw Bitsy in the tent as well. Shielding herself from an onslaught of words. "Its urgent for the commander." Evelin handed the envelope to Errol as he snatched it away. She backed up as Errol marched forward back into the tent. Evelin followed him as she entered the tent to hear screeching.
Bitsy covered her ears as the commander started shouting. "THE REVOLUTION IS FAKE, A HOAX, ANGEL DID NOT SEND ANY MENTIONS OF IT. THE YOUNG PRINCE IS WOUNDED AND MISSING, KIDNAPPED BY THE HUMAN AND ALL YOU THINK TO SEE IS THAT THE HUMAN IS STILL HUMANE?" The commander yelled directly at Bitsy as another feminine figure stepped in front of Bitsy between the two.
"Zote that is enough. She has reasons to still believe in a cause that may no longer be one." The lady growled back as her hair stood up ready to fire out. Errol slammed down a gavel as they all looked at him. He held open the letter and they all saw Angel's seal.
"I demand silence from all of you till we finish the letter." Errol grimaced as this was his first time acting truly serious for once in his life. No room to be scared. "Dear General's, Commanders, Comrades and Warriors. There will be a day where we can all be together once more united and unified under one banner for peace, and not enslavement. Our Queens are not of this rule or fit to be. The power belongs back into the people's hands. Guided by us and not forced by us. James and I will take a mantle of responsibility to lead to a new age. This human can kill the queens as he has the talent to do so. We must have faith and hope entering this new age. For those who stand for my cause, join me and my brother at Man's Last Grasp." Errol took a breath as he showed the notation of James and Angel's signatures as he turned it around. "For any questions about the human find James, he knows much more than I and remembers our past."
"What a load of bullshit, there is no way a human can be that powerful to take out all four mages at once." Zote crossed his arms as a few of the other commanders stood behind him. "What efforts are behind his actions? An attempt at the queens that failed? James being kidnapped by the human? Angel being knocked unconscious by the human's mage?"
"But its true he would know. The human is their father, they are more than just twins. They are on a greater scale of power than us. Always have been." Evelin interjected as they all looked at her like she was crazy.
"Evelin, that is crazy talk, even if a human managed to find a hybrid like us, how would the hybrid not kill him. We teach that in class as the first thing to do is killing humans." Errol held out his hand as Evelin shrugged.
"Angel told me directly, and if we go to where James will be, he could confirm it for us and lead us, in the princess' absence." Evelin kept going as the rest outside of Bitsy and the lady in front of her rolled their eyes.
"She is right. As much as the queens kept the twins quiet and hidden, they didn't appear until five years ago, where James was the enforcer and Angel the mark of beauty when the Queens took over. Isn't it strange that one royal family got toppled for a second and had pieces in place, two who also have more powers than all of us, their aura feels different than ours." The lady in front of Bitsy rattled off her history lesson as her quills slowly dipped.
"You want us to trust the humans and their revolution plans to overthrow the Queens?" Errol asked as he felt conflicted. "If what Evelin says is true, and the human they speak about is powerful enough to not only give birth to them, but also take down the Queens, why would we not see what they are about?" Zote rested his hands on his sword. "At worst, if they are fakers, we can finish them off in one move."
"The Queens have called everyone back to the capital walls. If you don't follow through then you would be considered traitors by their eyes." Zote raised his blade slowly at Errol.
"Then we have a vote on all who are here. If you choose to follow me and any others who want to hear James out, we can see. If not, you can safely return to the capital. We will apply that fallacy to all the towns and villages we pass." Errol rested his fingers on Zote's blade as he lowered it.
"When the Queens become outraged, it will not be my fault." Zote relaxed as his blade returned to its guard. "Shall we call the battalions?" Errol nodded as each of the commanders walked out of the door. They followed Errol to the grandstand as Zote blew the horn. The masses of the armies all looked at the grandstand where Errol, Zote, and the five other commanders stood.
"We have came to alert you all of a current wave of events." Errol yelled out to the crowd as their murmurs came to a silent stare. "Er, if you haven't heard the current discourse of current actions, James has fled the capital with a human after an attempt on the Queens. This human is James and Angel's father. Angel was knocked out during the fight and remains in recovery. The state of James is unknown. We have a letter from Angel asking to rebel against the Queens and to free ourselves." Errol took a deep breath as he was breaking his composure.
"We are holding a vote. If you choose to follow Errol on his useless running around, it will be considered treason against the Queens, if not, you shall return to the capital. Executive order from the Queen's due to the recent event." Zote interjected and laid it on thick with his words.
"We will get to the bottom of this one way or another. May your votes reflect what you want in light of our beacon of hope Angel." Errol finished as the sides shifted around. They formed lines on the podium and dropped their name tags into one of two buckets. One side to join Errol and go on a life changing journey. The other to return to the capital with Zote.
The last few tags were casted as the commanders were left. All except one joined Zote. "Sanguine, you are a great warrior throwing your life away to see a false prophet." Zote reached his hand out. "Last chance."
"No, I choose to see more of life. Best of my class means nothing if I can't use it for the good of all." Sanguine held firm as Zote rested his hand on his blade. The masses formed into two sides. Those joining Errol vastly outnumbered the pack who were returning to the capital.
"Now, take it easy Zote, we don't have the numbers even if we have more talent." One of the commanders rested his arm on Zote's shoulder as he nodded. "Everyone, despite what will be true, we still are the same species and should cooperate with each other, there is no need for violence and I will not tolerate it from either side. Break down camp and go our separate ways."
Both sides played passive as they tore down their tents and their gear as they began their march to their destinations. The force who joined Errol stopped at each and every Hybrid town and village, notifying them of what had occurred, not many traveled with the force as most stayed put.
Zote's forces returned to the capital as they were spoiled with riches and lavish luxury. Being put into a position where they could do whatever and inflict martial law at the request of the Queens. Riots broke out daily as they were dispersed upon each time the royal forces showed up. They consistently failed to capture anyone from the riots and stop them from happening. The Hybrids were put into a stalemate between two nonexistent barriers.
