The year passed as Astral worked on the docks and moved all sorts of cargo considered unmovable by one man. No one dared investigate him as his goals were to gorge himself on all the fine dining around the town, learning new ways and styles to cook with. Each meal he tried he wrote into a notebook for him to try on a later date and to replicate for himself and the others. His quest for a meal lead him to find all the best places across the city while also being undetected until the day came that marked a year of his entrapment.
'Well, this isn't my body, but I still have uses for it. You will be given a new breath of life at some point.' Astral looked at his physique as it was a much more filled template with not as many muscles showing. More filled out and muscular with less definition than what he normally was. He walked up the stairs to the middle level before he sent the body into the sea of white for it to find itself. Astral was back in spector mode as he hovered above the city and looked at the building he was trapped in.
'When they awaken my body I should snap immediately back. However I want to see how this works just a little bit more.' Astral's thoughts trailed off as he watched the elvish councilors dressed in their golden robes walking up the steps. Behind them were guards dressed in royal red robes carrying what looked to be four pieces of armor. Astral floated above them as he watched them struggle to carry his armor. He laughed as none of them heard it. They all paused as they had an eerie feeling about all of this and the violence they may cause.
The doors swung open as they looked at Astral locked in chains. "Awaken dream warrior. Start the summoning so we can slay him nevermore, we offer his leg armor for this task." The lady elf from before set her hand on the ground as the royal guardsmen set the armor in front of her as the entire room started to glow in a blue teal glow. Astral was more wondering what was going to happen.
Nothing appeared in front of them as they all heard a booming voice. "YOUR WISH IS DENIED HE IS NOT ASLEEP AND NOR IS HE AN ENEMY TO THE DREAM REALM!" The voice was harsh toned as it screeched at them. The clone woke up as it shattered all of the shackles holding his body back. Astral sat back for a moment as the clone jumped up lightly and curled into a ball. Astral wanted to see how much control he would have as the elves all started to shoot spells at his body.
The arms on the clone spread outward as a purple swirl surrounded him before it impulsed everyone backwards and leveled the building. Turning the supports and pillars into dust. Keeping the people alive, just deathly afraid as Astral reentered his body. The clone's mind went into the pocket dimension as Astral walked forward to his armor. "You asked too much of the dream warrior." Astral took another step as the first boot locked into place. "He has his own battle to fight, probably. If I am who I say I am, you stood no chance to get his help. Him battling me is a death sentence." Astral took the next step forward as he locked into his other boot. Reaching down and grabbing his armor for his thighs.
"YOU ARE AN EVIL MONSTER WHO KILLS WITHOUT DISCRETION, THE ONLY THOUGHTS YOU HAVE HAD ARE TO SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR FRIENDS WITH NO REGARD OF ALL THE OTHERS YOU KNOW OF. ALL THE OTHER LIFE THAT YOU RUIN. WE KNOW WHAT YOU DID FOR THE DWARFS. WE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO COMPETE WITH THEIR POWER AND NOW OTHERS WILL COME TO THIS PLANET WHO WE CAN'T BEAT! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR ACTIONS PAST AND FUTURE HAVE DRAWBACKS?" The elvish lady that led him around stood up and screamed into his face as Astral sat there and took it. He put on his thigh armor as it whistled in command ready with several features he forgot about ready to be activated if he wished.
'The suit feels more alive than when I made it. I rarely used it though so maybe some of the features are trying to ease me back in.' He ignored her as she walked up and slapped him.
"YOU DIDN'T LISTEN AT ALL! WHAT A COWARD!" She shouted at the top of her lungs as Astral's paws extended forward. One of them was completely broken as his wings extended outward in a form of protest.
"Lady, if anyone else came here other than me and wanted you dead, it would be impossible for you to stop them. You trying to guilt me into helping you won't help either. You never saw the battles my men had on the moons, or the cities I've defended. Or the tournament of life and death that very well may hold the balance of the universe in check. You ask for less magical artifacts when this planet's death wish was me landing." The elvish council all fell into shock, then silence as horns blew. The upper level was surrounded by the entire army as Astral held his tongue to catch his breath.
"With the many who wanted me dead, and the many who still do. They will not stop at the measly asking of some nobody fodder to spare them and their planet. Be glad that the Crown Jewels were the ones to be here. Their magical power is immense but they are beatable compared to some of the others." Astral looked into the stars. "None of them are on the level of the man to be most afraid of. Everyone I have faced can destroy a planet. Be glad they will choose not to."
Astral's paw dropped her to the ground as Astral tapped a button on his gauntlet as the paws fell off. He caught them and looked at how mangled the second one was. "Well, you are saying that we are lucky to live?" The lady asked as she stood back up.
"Every day that you wake up is a good day. I can only imagine my armies being so glad that they have the ability to wake up in the safest part of the universe. Praying day in and day out since my defeat that I find myself lucky enough to wake up with them." Astral sat down and started to undo the joints for the one paw. Detaching it from the rest of the pack as they all watched.
"You can't defend us like them, is that it?" The council all shouted at once as Astral shrugged. "What a waste of a man." "So much talent and so little care" "He acts for himself." "Why do they call him the star child? He is dull." "You are worthless."
Astral took apart the outside plating to the paw as he summoned the replacement plates and reattached them to the wiring and the inner frame. "You all say correct things. You all say mean things and spit poisonous hatred on someone who just wanted a few things back." Astral glanced up as he was clicking everything back into place on the plates. "But the seal is fading on my protection across an entire galaxy. Let alone me making a second seal to protect everyone here." Astral finished the paw as he put it back on the pack and screwed it into place.
"You are saying you won't make us a seal?" The lady asked.
"I may have tried if you didn't lock me still for a year. Besides, if the Crown Jewels saw that level of magic they would do something to counter that. Even then, they wouldn't let it fly, and if they did, they would come for the race responsible for it all." Astral put the pack back onto his back and laughed. "Your biggest enemy is already inside the planets, it would just lock them in with you. If my plan is correct. I will be gone in three years." Astral's wings spread out as he hunched down.
"One last thing too, if I did make that barrier, it would attract much worse enemies than the ones I have faced and killed." Astral lifted off as the sky became arrows for him. Astral soared through them all as he looked down at all of them in pity. Once he was clear of the city he looked at his gauntlet and found his next stop.
