Ji Yunhe picked up the saber dropped by Zhu Ling, used it for support, and stood up on one leg.

"Who… else?"

Blood gushed from all over her body and her voice was hoarse and out of shape, but she still stood up and guarded the edge of the cliff, like a devil that had crawled out of hell.

Zhu Ling clutched at his chest and squeezed out a command, "Kill! The jiaoren... must be recovered."

Ji Chengyu held him down and continued to protect his heart with his palm. He then turned his head to the soldiers.

"Prepare the arrows." Only then did the soldiers seem to come back to their senses. They quickly drew their bows and arrows from the backs of their broken horses. Ji Chengyu waved his hand and the arrowheads began glowing with spiritual energy.

"Release!" He gave the order and all the arrows flew out in unison.

With her back to the abyss, Ji Yunhe could not retreat. But she did not give up either. As the arrows rained down, she gave a loud cry and spun the saber while standing on one leg, forming a shield to block her front.

But the arrows came endlessly. By the third wave, she had been exhausted of all her strength. Her right arm was the first to get hit. She ripped the arrow out of her flesh and skin with her teeth, but her arm was no longer able to lift the saber. Then another arrow pierced her other knee.

Unable to stand any longer, Ji Yunhe immediately fell to both knees with only her right hand still struggling to support her body.

She refused to fall down.

No one understood why she still had not fallen. She lowered her head, as if she had lost consciousness. One last arrow flew over and landed in her shoulder, but she was completely unresponsive...

She seemed to have died. Bled empty of her blood, exhausted of her strength, and fought away her life. In a frozen posture, she died on the edge of the cliff. Ji Chengyu looked at Ji Yunhe kneeling there like a statue, displaying the most horrid and pathetic end of a demon master.

He turned his head and looked at Zhu Ling who had also lost consciousness. His hand protecting his heart did not dare to let go.

"You guys go find a doctor, quickly. And the rest, find your way down the cliff and recover the jiaoren."

"Yes!"

The soldiers were about to go when they suddenly felt a strong gust of wind stir up. At the same time, dark clouds coalesced in the sky and obscured the moon. The night turned ghastly and dark.

The soldiers were almost blown off of their feet. They turned around and looked at the cliff where the wind was blowing from. There, Ji Yunhe still knelt with the support of the saber. Her head was still hanging low and she did not move, but a cloud of black gas chaotically danced and swirled around her body, pulling at her hair and her dress. The wind came from her. Then the black gas slowly condensed and formed into the shape of a tail behind her.

One, two, three… the black gas grew more and more dense. In just a few moments, nine demonic tails appeared before everyone's eyes

"Demon... demon..."

The soldiers were terrified. Ji Chengyu looked at Ji Yunhe, his face overwhelmed by disbelief.

"Nine... tailed fox..."

Ji Yunhe moved. Her head shifted slightly to the side, and a pair of bright red eyes appeared under the messy strands of hair across her face. They leered through the black gas and fixated on Ji Chengyu.

"Who dares to go after him?"
