Ji Yunhe's attitude and words were both upsetting to Princess Shunde. The Grand Master glanced at her and asked, "Why are you here?"

His voice was gentle and did not seem upset over the princess's trespass. It had been said that the Grand Master favored Princess Shunde very much, and it seemed to be true.

"Master, I heard a big commotion coming from your residence in the middle of the night, and I was worried. Others didn't dare to come, so I came." Princess Shunde looked at Ji Yunhe.

"I didn't expect the person we've been searching everywhere for would be here with you."

Princess Shunde found her pride again. Her back straightened, her chin lifted, and she stepped barefoot across the ground, breaking through the protection shield left in front of her by the Grand Master.

"Master."

Princess Shunde was not afraid of Ji Yunhe's attacks anymore. She walked up to the Grand Master in the middle of the cell, still surrounded by Ji Yunhe's black aura.

"I'm going to kill her." The fingertips decorated with gold flowers pointed at Ji Yunhe, as arrogant as when she rode into the Demon Valley.

Ji Yunhe was huddled up in the corner of the wall, even more broken than the day in the Demon Valley dungeon. But, compared to then, Ji Yunhe was now in a much better mood. Not for any other reason, just because she was no longer afraid of Princess Shunde.

The princess could not find Changyi, and she also could not kill Ji Yunhe.

"You can't kill me."

"You can't kill her." Ji Yunhe spoke almost simultaneously with the Grand Master.

Princess Shunde's face turned more vicious and her murderous intent grew to Ji Yunhe's satisfaction.

"She is a criminal. She made me lose the jiaoren, and she is a traitor. Her life cannot be spared."

"That was before," the Grand Master said indifferently. Princess Shunde frowned, "What do you mean?"

"Now, she is my test subject." Yes, Ji Yunhe was now the Grand Master's guinea pig. He had said she was a strange, new creature, so he was bound to study her more. He would never let anyone kill her for the time being.

What could be safer than being under the Grand Master's protection? If he said she could not be killed, then even Princess Shunde would have to listen.

Ji Yunhe smiled at the princess. As of now, neither of them could kill the other. But as long as the princess did not have Changyi, Ji Yunhe would always be the one to smile between the two.

Ji Yunhe touched her chest. The sharp pain had disappeared. The one thing that had tormented her for years and was supposed to take her life, unexpectedly now gave her a chance to live. It was as if fate dumped her into a coffin then carried her out again, telling her everything that happened earlier was just a joke. After a while, Princess Shunde nodded her head.

"Okay, master. But from now on, I would like to work with you and we can study her together." Ji Yunhe looked at Princess Shunde, who smiled wickedly like a poisonous snake.

"On experimentation of medicine and alchemy, I have many ideas to try as well." The Grand Master still only looked at the black gas around Ji Yunhe and said nonchalantly, "You may."

Princess Shunde then smiled a little brighter. Ji Yunhe knew this was fate again.

Fate, who had just pulled her out of the coffin, accidentally pushed her back in. When it wanted to play you, you would get played.

Late at night, Ji Chengyu left, Princess Shunde left, and the Grand Master also left. Ji Yunhe sat alone in the prison with its magic seal restored. Her black gas still floated and danced inside the cell, and outside, the flame of a single torch hovered on the wall.

"Can I still… live..." Ji Yunhe stared at the tiny bit of light, lost in thoughts. "Is there still hope for freedom...?"
