We continue to speed past traffic towards wherever this farm was, the whole world was a blur as we race down backroads and down alleys. I still had Jackson’s phone in my hand trying to call my mum, but each time it would go to voicemail caused the worried feelings to get closer and closer to the surface.
I couldn’t stop the worried thoughts from swirling around my head, what if something bad had happened to her and Reece? The last time we had a proper conversation was an argument and the final time we spoke, I was so cold towards her. Yes, I’m still angry that she was never upfront with my dad and I about what she did. If we would have known she did this for work, we would have been more prepared if someone like Mario was going to appear in our lives.
