Mission on 8th

The van rolled slowly and smoothly out of the gates of the Big Blue! Routinely, George was the one on the wheel. He had been recently getting more and more hesitant to this . He drove the van slowly with no ardour as he always did. It was like something inside him was impeding him not to comply to this mission of today. Bruce and Collins had totally opposite moods. They kept on giggling and engaging in pleasantries about what they could relish with the money. They marvelled at how one could easily become rich without any white collar job to speak of.

George was all silent when the two men were chatting loudly and happily. " Bro cheer up . Today might be the best of the best. " Bruce had picked up as he made a friendly pat on George's shoulder.

" I'm not in the mood for this thing today. I don't know why." George mourned lowly.

"Why? Let me do the driving then!" Bruce suggested in concern.

" No! It's not driving." He returned while putting more concentration on the road.

"Then what's it? Don't you like the pay? " Collins cut in from the back seat.

" No! It's just my instincts." explained George.

"Stop having girlish behaviour man! Emotions are never required in this man. What's the use of your pistol?" challenged Bruce.

George did not like the word pistol. He felt cold the moment Bruce uttered it. He had his own in his inner pocket of the the jacket. He wondered if Bruce and Collins had also carried theirs. The day Hussain handed them these weapons a pang of fear ran all over his body. He felt that Hussain had gone way too much than normal . How Hussain had put it that it was very dangerous should they be caught by them made it sounded more illegal. He gritted his teeth in anger and exchanged. " Don't you dare to call it girlish again Bruce. It's crossing lines."

"Okay brother. But cheer up!" Bruce calmed him.

As Hussain continued to map them into the place of the 'harvest', George felt even more and more sombre. They intercepted from the main way and led their way into a more narrower and lonely road . George's heart skipped a bit. The road was familiar. He knew it. It was the road that he once used the day he was coming from the Blex towers during their anniversary day. It was also the same road he pulled in a taxi the day he came to pick Angela for the proposal at Allgrace park. It gave him a considerable nostalgic feeling.

Moments later he vividly saw the gate of the Golden Oak Residency, the estate that his girlfriend, Angela lived. He did not want to believe it. As if adding to his fears and truly confirming his conjectures , Hussain ordered them to park the van before the gate. This gate was where George's girlfriend resided. He parked it a few meters from the gate so that the gateman wouldn't question or bear something suspicious. He now waited for Hussain's instructions and listen intently . He hoped and believed it was an anonymous person from the estate that wouldn't send a clue to Angela that he's actually an evil man to this extent. Bruce and Collins also waited fervently like soldiers waiting for a one time command and they swing into an action.

In an audible and clear voice , Hussain confidently confirm it was the one when a medium sized beautiful girl emerged from the gate with a phone on her ear. She was of a tender age and probably one amongst the young girls they have ever abducted. Her skin tone was a deep chocolate in color and she had eyes of humility and innocence. George freaked and muttered unconsciously but audibly " It cannot be!". He was not at a point to bear it. This was her sister in law to be . This was Claire , Angela's sister. He thought it wrong at first but as the girl approached nearer, his eyes confirmed that they were not with any defects.

Bruce winced when George uttered the words unknowingly. He meant to challenge him but kept his anger inside his chest. Before Claire had reached the van, Collins and swung the side door wide open. Bruce also set himself for the work. Through the windshield, the girl seemed to marvel at one of the occupants inside the van when she had reached so close to the van. George's eyes had also cought her gaze and he certainly felt the connection with her. She however did not ascertain it was George and therefore proceeded her way past the van while still in a deep conversation with whoever she was talking to on the phone.

Unaware of her trap, she did not hear when Collins had tiptoed silently and pounced on her mouth fiercely. Bruce had drag her whole body while Collins made sure no screams were heard. While she struggled effortlessly like an antelope in a lions grip, she was thrown into the van and at that moment , Collins slid back the door. Bruce helped. to strap her mouth closed which Collins mercilessly, not embarrassed of overusing his masculine energy, bound her legs and hands together so that she was totally immobile. The girl cried desperately as the two men set themselves in the seats ignoring her intentionally. They laughed and cracked jokes of house the work has been easier than ever.

George was inconsolable, he did not want to look at the men seated at the back and the victim. A drop of tear fell from his eye and he wiped it so fast that non of his colleagues saw it. His hand became more and more heavy on the steering wheel. He struggled to turn back the van and speed away.

Without their knowledge , a white car had just pulled so close to the scenes and a stout woman who was driving it , had rolled down the window just to have a better view. George saw this but didn't react quickly. Bruce and Collins only saw it when the van sped past the car. "Did you see that?" Bruce alerted everyone.

"The car or something?" Collins peeked.

"Yes! A woman in the car was witnessing what has been going on." Bruce said and continued,

" We must deal with this! Do this George slow down a bit!" George must have been lamenting inwardly and didn't hear the men discussing the incident. He kept quiet and continued accelerating the machine .

" Hey bro! Slow down a bit! Are you really with us?" Collins shouted carelessly. George was alarmed and slowed down.

Bruce had rolled the window and without notice, withdrew his gun easily . Cocking it, he could hear the rumblings sound of the tyres of the white car behind them. The car pulled out to accelerate and slowly to overtake them. Bruce aimed at the woman in the car through the open window of her car and animatedly pulled the trigger. The desperate woman was shot right on her head and as they slowed down to almost a stop, they could see the car zigzagging on the road for a moment before it rammed into an electric post and stopped immediately.

George was more confused and wondered how easy it was for Bruce to kill the woman. He observed in despondency , the woman in the car even as they passed the wrecked car . He felt more and more insecure than ever. Another police case had been created. That meant that they were more wanted than before. Collins only smiled and congratulated Bruce for his bravery. He did not see it as a thing to worry them but to give them confidence.

"At least we're done with one stupid hypocrite." Collins broke the silence in the van .

" Not a hypocrite, an eye witness brother!" corrected Bruce while laughing comically.

" You've at least made use of a bullet." continued Collins.

" There's nothing to fear. After what do you think could happen if the woman went away with it?" Bruce thought.

" Prison, Police! Gun shots. I don't want to imagine. We would have given ourselves out!" Collins commented.

George still did not contribute a word into this discussion. He only did what Hussain directed him to do. After an hour of driving , they came into a more desolate and unused rough road . It traversed through a vast grassland that stretched kilometers away as far as eyes could see. Darkness was chasing the remnant daylight and far away on the same road , George could see something specially peculiar. Two red spots of dim light beamed through the grassland. As they moved closer and. closer, George realized that it was the same car that received them last time . Hussain got from the car moments later when they finally halted.

Three anonymous and muscular men trotted after him . They opened the tailgate and dragged Claire out of the van without a word to either Collins or Bruce. Hussain went to the front and handed George a small carrier bag that had three bundle of new bank notes. He made a smile that was not a smile at all . Without further details he turned and got back into the other car.
