Maria sat and rubbed her head as she looked ahead of her at the small green hill.
A small girl looking to be about eight or nine years old was hopping around her with a concerned look on her face.
"Are you alright? Does your head hurt?" The little girl asked as she stepped in front of her and looked up at her with tears forming in her eyes.
"Yes, I'm alright," Maria answered in a rather manly voice.
She let out a slight cough to clear her throat, but nothing was wrong.
"Are you feeling alright, Nathaniel?" The little girl asked.
Maria stared at her in shock as she heard her say that.
"I'll go get someone, you stay here," The little girl said as she ran off leaving Maria with a look of bewilderment.
Maria sat there for a few seconds then raised her hands and observed them closely.
They didn't look like they belonged to a woman.
She stood up straight and observed her clothes. She, or more or less he, was wearing a royal mantle.
She gazed around at the beautiful view in front of her for a second then went back to questioning what had happened to her.
Just then two guards came up to him.
"Uhmm, do you need something?" Maria asked as she looked over at them.
"We are here to escort you to your chambers, Prince Nathaniel." said the guard who was standing closer to her.
"Oh, I see, well let's go now," Maria said as she walked behind the guard who was in front of her and the other guard walked behind her.
Sitting down on the bed a couple of minutes later, Maria let out a small sigh as she rubbed her head.
Just then her eyes landed on a bag sitting on the shelf in front of her.
She stood up and went over to the shelf. Pulling the bag down, she unfastened the top and turned it upside down on the bed.
Many things came out of the bag and piled up on the spot where she had turned it upside down. Putting the bag to the side, she started sorting through the stuff that had come out of the bag.
There was a small white envelope, four to five books, and three small heavy pouches. There was also a small box that came out from underneath everything.
Maria put the letter and the small box under her pillow to look at them later.
Picking up what seemed to be the first book, Maria blew on it and watched as the dust particles spread everywhere.
She got up and looked around on the shelf to find a small cloth.
She took it over to the book and cleaned the dust off the cover. Out of the five books, two of them looked of more importance to her.
The first book had a deep blue cover with the title 'A Guide To Transmigration'.
The second one had a bright red cover with the title 'Explanation of the Magical Kingdom of Nivania'.
The other books looked like they wouldn't be needed until later.
She cleaned up all of the things that were left on the bed. She put the rest of the books in a drawer in the side table and sat down on the bed with the first book in her hands.
She opened the first book and read the first page.
It had names of other books that were related to this one. The list was very long, so long that it went over to the other page even though the writing was so small. There were about two hundred books listed.
She flipped to the next page and started reading through the first chapter.
The first chapter explained all about the process of how one could transmigrate. Apparently, there were many ways to do so.
For one, a person could be on the verge of death and could make a deal with an immortal body from the higher realm to do something in order to gain back their life.
They could also transmigrate back in time or maybe forward after dying.
They could also go back in time to when they were alive in order to save themselves from what had caused them to die.
Or they could transmigrate to the same time they died but in a different body.
Sometimes, the body you got transmigrated into could be the opposite gender as well.
Letting out a small sigh, Maria stood up and went over to the mirror. She looked at her reflection with a small frown.
Maria had expected to transmigrate into the body of the oldest princess. Instead, here she was, staring back at her own self with cold green eyes.
Sighing, she went back and sat down on the bed again. She was finding it quite hard to get accustomed to her new body even though it was only temporary.
Picking up the book again, she flipped to the next chapter and was about to start reading again when there was a sudden knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Maria asked cringing at her voice.
"It's Sofia. I've brought a doctor, can we come in?" came a sweet voice from outside the door.
"Ah, give me a moment, the door is locked," Maria said as she stood up and closed the book she was holding.
She threw the book under the bed and went over to the door.
Unlocking the door, she stepped back as Sofia and the doctor stepped into the room.
