“I didn’t think you’d even care about my family that much.” Martin only scoffed as he continued eating, even reaching to the side to cajole Aliyah to eat some more without words.

“I don’t. I just thought my baby learned to be too kind to the people of his village. That includes your family, unfortunately. He is even friends with your daughter.” Mauve leaned to the side and played with the strawberry on her plate. “You can’t deny that, can you?”

Martin stared at the lady with a sad face as if she was displeased by the events. He glanced at his wife first before answering again. “Milan Sheppard embraced the role of being the Divine Bride too much. He’s just receptive to those who stand out from the crowd. My daughter actively helped out in the village before she was designated as the bride months ago.”
